If you believe that there are seven days in a week and you believe that Monday is the first day, then your Sabbath or Seventh (which the word was derived) should fall on a Sunday. That is a Christian belief.
If you are Muslim however, your first day falls on a Saturday because their equivalent of the Sabbath is Friday.
Original word Sabbath was in the Book of Torah where it falls on a Saturday meaning they have practiced Sunday as the first day of the week and Saturday is the seventh day.
Have you not wondered why Christian and Muslim have their rest day different from the Jews yet they all claimed that the basis of their faith was in the Torah? It is clearly that both of them wanted to stay away from the Jewish Traditions.
Sabbath is very important to God. There is nothing written by the Prophets of the Old Testament that did not endorse the bringing back of the Sabbath specially to the Jewish nation. What the Christian and the Muslim did is a total defiance to the will of the true God. Keep Sabbath Holy if you claim to be His follower.

Although many today refer to the Sabbath as Sunday, the Sabbath of the Bible was on Saturday. Even though many think of Sunday as the weekend, most modern calendars show Sunday to be the first day of the week. In the Old Testament, the Jews were commanded to rest on the Sabbath. Since Christians are not under the law we are not commanded to keep it. even if it could be proven that the Sabbath is to be observed, it would not apply to Gentiles, but only to fleshly Jews. The Sabbath was "a sign between (God) and the children of Israel (Ex. 31:17). Gentiles were not included

I think it is not an essential issue HOWEVER keep in mind
the recorded resurection appearances of Jesus were all on sundays wer they not????? examples:
Jesus was first seen on Sunday risen
Jesus appeared on the next Sunday a week later
Pentacost was on a sunday about a month later
the book of Revelation was given on Sunday to John
Euticus fell outta the window on what day...take a wild guess... early Sunday morning
Paul ordered churches take a collect EVERY Sunday
hmmm
I'm seein a trend here... like a month of Sundays at least
conclusion nuthin wrong with worship on Sunday
but leave it up to consience it isnt an essential belief
People in good concience might worship on saturday sunday or everyday and it isnt an essential doctrine however it appears to me to be started not by the Catholic Church or traditions of men but Jesus himself given the fairly strong pattern here

Sabbath is like an explosion of joy for me. My husband sees it as a chance to rest and relax, but when I see that Friday sun going down, and realize I'm free from work and other people's expectations for 24 hours, I feel sooo energized! I make music with my friends, take walks or boat rides, read books, watch spiritual videos and have discussions (like this one!) with my husband or friends as we each study into Bible themes that interest us. Oh. Yes. Church fits in there somewhere! Foodwise, my husband always brings a treat home on Friday.
Some of my friends say they've tried to keep Sunday in this way but just can't. I think that may be because God's blessing is on the day that He Himself set aside, the seventh day..

As a Christian, I keep holy the Lord's Day. Keeping the Sabbath really dropped out pretty early in the Church history. Jews of course still do this, and that makes sense.

The commandment says "remember a day of rest and keep it Holy" anything more specific for Christians is divisive. IMHO
