I would take the servings that the bag suggest and not worry about the amount of weight your trying to gain. Your body like any one elses can only in take 23 gm of protien during each work out. That is saying you work out 2 twice a day. The average intake of protein for anyone is 60 -80 grm of protein. Anymore than that you will waste the suppliment. That means you will have an uncomfortable time in the bathroom. Too much protein causes that. So take as many servings as it says.

i'm not sure how many servings are in a 1lb bag of whey protein is BUT..

the general rule is "1 gram of protein per lb of bodyweight"
150lb person = 150 g protein

Protein is only a 'supplement' that means..you should also be taking protein from whole foods like chicken..tuna..

Want to gain weight? Protein isn't the only source for gaining weight. YOu ultimately need to increase calorie intake from fats and carbohydrates.

32-40 grams of protein 3 times per day should do it. On most bags that come with a scoop that's 2 scoops 3 times a day.
