Anything is possible but given the Christian theocratic climate in the U.S., it's not very probable.

I find this sad. A country that's founded on the principal of freedom of religion should have this freedom extended all the way to the White House. One should not be judged based on their spiritual path but on their actions. Deeds speak. Unfortunately for us Wiccans, people need hearing aids!

And the year? Long after I'm dead, I'm afraid.

On the one hand the idea of a president who is not white, male, middle aged, or/and Christian does seem unlikely in the U.S.A however on the other hand Wicca does have strong bonds with the Freemasons so it is possible, however it is unlikely that if there was they would be public about it because of the public image Wicca has, and given the secrecy within Wicca it would probably remain hidden knowledge.

There are so few Wicca however in comparison to other religions, I also think sadly because of the public image and misinformation about Wicca that it is going to shrink and go underground rather than ever get much bigger than the small cult it is now, so going purely on chance the statistics are stacked against the possibility of this ever happening.

Edit:
LOL - I also like that people answering this question think there are no corrupt or underhanded Wicca, ok so it's one of the nicer misconceptions about them, but again given links to Freemasons and their emphasis on personal morality over dogmatic morality I can say there is a chance of a corrupt Wicca so that perhaps slightly increases the chances of a president who is Wicca :o)

I'm afraid the majority would not let that happen and we would have to have the votes. Unfortunately there aren't enough with open minds to our religion and it would be used against whoever ran. They wouldn't believe a word that was said to defend it. As most don't now. :( But I have to admit, compared to 20 years ago, the Wiccan population has grown so much that more people are opening up to us.
So, we can only keep hoping...you never know.
Blessed be.

Anything is possible. Maybe in my lifetime, maybe not.

However, even if a Wiccan ran for the position of US President, I may or may not vote for him/her. I don't vote for people based upon their religion (or lack of it), race, gender, or sexual preferences. I vote for people based on their experience, ability to do the job, what they say their beliefs are, and whether they have a record to back up what they say they believe.

Public's not ready for an open Wiccan, but someone in the broom-closet could get in. There's only one openly gay Senator, but we all recently found out that Foley is a gay man too.

If you mean President of the USA--no time soon. However, witches are supposed to keep it on the down low, so for all we know, Lincoln was a witch.
I'd vote for a Wiccan in a heartbeat! At least the environment would be saved.

It's possible, but I think it'll take a long time.

Think of the uproar when Kennedy got elected. *Gasp, a Catholic!

I think it'll be a while before a non-Christian gets office in this country.

As long as christians are allowed their freedom of speech and religion and as long as wiccans are continued to be seen as satanic we will never see a wiccan president and we will continue to have corruption in the oval office. (i mean come on bush and his holy war, and clinton commiting adultry not very rolemodel like to me)

I wish, I really do. We have never had a non white, male, Christian president. (Catholisism counts and Christianity to me).

I really wish we as a country could open our minds.

Peace n love.
