Our cat is diabetic. The vet suggested the Catkins Diet and suggested Iams kitten food. For some reason, that food is hard to find around here and I'm not noticing a difference (still drinks a lot and pees a lot -- he is also on insulin so there was an initial decrease).

Do you know any other wet foods that worked well for your diabetic cat that are relatively easy to find? Also, I am not interested in cooking his food for him, but I realize that is an option.

Hi there...if you live in a metropolitan city look for specialty pet food stores that sells Innova EVO, Nature's Variety Prairie. There are many other high animal protein canned foods that avoid filler carbs and byproducts at these types of pet specialty stores.

Here are some weblinks about some of the high protein canned foods:

Wal Mart sells Iams kitten food...It is in a lavendar colored bag. Does your vet sell any of the right type of food? My vet has a store along with his practice so I get all of my stuff from there...Maybe if yours doesn't another vet might..You can call around to the vets in your area to find out.
