I just wanna know why some atheists on here continue to ask for proof. Someone said that they would've believed if they were there when Jesus were performing miracles, and would have believed if they could see the nail marks in his hands and feet. His own people didn't believe him, they saw it!!! Do you honestly think you would be one who did? The fact is if you don't WANT to believe in God, you won't. No matter what, God could come down talk to you, do some miracles FOR you, tell you how he did everything, show you more physical evidence, and you would still find a way to explain it as not being real. So why do you ask for proof?

J.P. - Jesus said all you have to have is faith the size of a mustard seed, and you can move mountains. God has given you proof, you just overlook it.
I can give you some proof, you just have to open your heart and recieve it with your heart.

The classic definition of proof is that it cannot be interpreted as anything other than what it is, living, tangible, palpable truth. What is so freaking wrong with asking for that? Surely an infinite being would find such a thing laughably easy and quite logical. But then I'm only an ordinary person, and so couldn't possibly understand such a complex line of reasoning...............couldn't I? And what about all the rest of us? Why is it that people of faith seem to belong to these little exclusive secret societies? If you don't know the secret handshake, or have the right decoder ring you can't come in mindset. All I ask personally is Prove it! Then make that proof available to everyone to look at, and examine.......then let us decide what to do with it. What's the sense of being able to think if we can't use our damned minds as they were meant to be used?

" God could come down talk to you, do some miracles FOR you, tell you how he did everything, show you more physical evidence, and you would still find a way to explain it as not being real. "
first of all, I disagree with that statement. how do you know that?
second of all, don't you think its odd that god hasnt shown its face since the dawn of time?
"Oh no god's there, you just can't see or measure him or anything he does." That's just great.
Most people believe in god because they were TOLD (usually programmed as children) or FORCED to believe in god. I think its only logical to ask for proof since you are essentially asking someone to believe in dogma. Check the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

You're kidding right?
Oh yes, I'm such a hardcore atheist, that if god came down and turned my lawn into a sea of snakes I'd tell him to piss off.
Get real. Asking for proof is essential to understanding. God does not get special treatment. Why create a situation with sentient beings who can only deduce things so far without tangible evidence, then supply them with none?
Seems to me that no matter what evidence there is showing how foolish it is to believe, you will continue to do so. So who is kidding who?
I mean, holy mother mary of joseph, someone, whoever the hell they were, wrote down (skipping the thousands of people who have translated and retranslated the bible across numerous languages doing who knows how many off hand/non-exact syntax and contextual errors), that they saw Jesus (or a man named jesus) get nailed to a cross!
Sign me up brother!
It's stupid to believe that there is the wonderful abundance of life and beauty and compassion of this world (let alone the universe), for no reason whatsoever.
As it is also stupid to believe there is some divine creator who loves you and made the world for you, but will send you to hell for watching porn.

i think people like disagreeing with things and because God and Jesus and everything that goes under this category has always been a discussion point most people ask for proof of this but if every body believed in God and his miracles they would ask for proof in why we didn't have three legs before or something like that

Because YOU keep telling us we should believe. Which ultimately leads to giving money to the church and wasting time praying. So why should we believe? Faith isn't enough for someone who needs evidence.
If god came down and performed a miracle right in front of me, I'd be willing to change my mind. But it's never happened. To anyone.

with all the things that go on in this world, how can you blame someone for wanting to have proof? look at all the war going on in the world, look at the so called holy land and what is going on over there, and look at all the murders and crimes going on, especially with our kids, our kids are being murdered raped and all other stuff. these days it hurts to see all the things going on and it makes it hard for people to have a faith in a certain God. all the different religions, and having all the religions talk down on each other, and on top of that telling others if you are not a _____ you will burn in hell. i dont really have a religion but i do beleive in God, i am a good person, but dont beleive in a religion. through all the years i never looked down on any person trying to tell me about their religion... ive always listen. it is interesting to hear on their beleifs but i hate hearing they are the ones to believe. i beleive in God and i dont look down on anyone askin for proof, i understand why they would want proof.

thats ridiculous...you basically just called yourself out as a fake because you yourself can find no proof...if you were really a christian you would have some unrealistic, nonsense reason for believing, like faith, or god spoke to you in a dream...or some campy stuff like i didnt find jesus, jesus found me...that kind of crap

Because given proof, I'd believe. It'd be nice to think I'd have an eternity to spend as my true self and not this flesh and blood that I'm stuck in. I'd believe in a new york minute, given the slightest proof.
And I've laid it on the table. I put my fingers in his hands and my hand in his side, and I'm his humble servant. Same proof Thomas asked for, same proof Thomas was given, same proof that caused Thomas to fall to his knees and proclaim, "My Lord and My God!"
I'm not holding my breath though. It'd be nice though.

You are the one with the theory there is a god. It is up to you to substantiate it with something.
Here is a theory http://www.venganza.org/ and it has just as much evidence as the one you follow unless you want to show more. Why don't you just believe in it?
