probably as much as we harass the male officers....
you spend alot of time with someone, you have things in common with them.....you see things and deal with things the normal citizen does not see nor deal with.....
Most of it is just plain harmless fun that never goes anywhere.
And it helps break up a hectic day at work.......
But from what I have seen, the females who do press charges, are the ones who didnt get what they wanted when THEY themselves were the ones who started the flirting and such.

There is a bias on the part of the male officers and harrassment does go on. It only takes a few to make it headlines and that is always what makes the news. I hate to say this (my husband is a fire fighter) but these guys are even worse than the police.

There is not really harassment (while I guess it happens some at times)

But there are all sorts of things that happen, hookers, people naked getting arrested. In with this there will always be jokes and kidding, if a female officer is not somewhat hard skinned, they may take some off colored joking, not about them, but about things that happen.

Being a cop is hard, you see nasty, awlful things, death, beatins and the way officers deal with it most often is joking about it afterwards.

But in general almost all of the female officers I knew were more hard core than the males and if anything they would embarrass most of the male officers

I was a cop in years past. I had female officers that I worked with that I respect to this day. One of them was very effective during a gun battle. I believe our teamwork saved the lives of both of us. Before you ask, yes she is physically attractive, but I saw her as a fellow officer. The bond we have is very strong, but it is warrior to warrior.

I have not seen any sexual harassment on the force, I see more in the corporate world.

Note; I ain't a cop answering from the other side of the law-line! I guess some male cops have sexually harassed female cops especially since females only got to be cops about 10 (?) years ago! But when I see a cop accused of sexual harassment I think they was trying to get some from a civilian!

This is a field where it probably happens the most. It wont usually happen directly but Males do usually talk about alot of things that would make women feel very weird and uncomfortable. But hey they do have the best jokes.

Does a bear poop in the woods? Whenever you put two people of opposite gender together for long periods, this is going to happen.

Most police departments have policies, and even sensitivity classes, but it doesn't always work. In defense of those folks who do comply with policy, we hope you're not offended. It is not my intention to clump you in with the offenders.

Usually when there is a dominance of men there usually is some, though they may have more common sense since they are in LAW enforcement. I don't think it'll be anything outright but mostly subtle comments, if anything.

Proably happens from time to time, then you must remember these are the same people who have to cover their backs in the street.
