Serious question actually...more than meets the eye...try to follow.

First, many Muslims immediately reject the claim he was a pedophile because they dont consider sex with children in the context of marriage to be pedophilia. So let me clairify what I mean by pedophilia...I mean any sex with children, by adults, whether in marriage or not.

Muslims get confused over the issue, so let me try to make it perfectly clear ---- I am asking why Allah would chose a man, who at 53, married and had sex with a child, to be the best example of conduct for all time when he could have chosen someone who didnt marry a child?

Unless you believe that the act of a 53yr old forcing a child into marriage, and having sex with the 9 year old, is indeed a GREAT act, not just tolerable but GREAT, then you must agree that Allah chose a less than ideal candidate, and because hes allah, he could have chose anyone.

I'm not a fan of Islam because it is not a fan of me as I am a woman.
This religion is based on mistreating one-half of the population at all times.
Believe me, I'm also no big fan of Christianity or many other organized religions, but at least Christians don't have a prophet who raped babies.

You are not reading with understanding still, I see. You have to think, not just pick points.

Even as recently as 100 years ago in the United States, it was not uncommon for a 12 year old to marry, and if a woman made to the ripe old age of 19 and was still unwed, she was considered a spinster. Humans mature at different rates - its genetic. Every Muslim knows that the marriage of Mohammed (pbuh) to Aisha was not consumated until she was an adult, according to the standards of that time and place. The woman Aisha was known for her intelligence. Do you really think such an intelligent woman would have accepted a marriage she found objectionable, even knowing that she was a teenager, and her husband was well into middle age?

A marriage is not Islamically valid unless both parties agree to it without reservation.

Think, man. I have no doubt you will make a fine Muslim someday. I'll pray for you.

pedophilia is the consequence of previous trauma, and is a option to act out of it. whilst a newborn is sexually molested, even purely verbally, frequently it form of feels like commonly used reaction. i became molested as a newborn, and, as a consequence, charm to even toddlers is an argument I certainly have dealt with. i'm no longer a pedophile, because of the fact i'm solid, and stay away from circumstances the place it would be a danger, yet i could be if I weren't spiritually solid. i decide for that course, yet whilst i did no longer decide for it, it may be undesirable. Consent to sexual interplay is yet another subject count. action is the alternative in question.

If you review the questions asked by this individual, you will realize that this question is not asked out of any genuine sense of curiosity, but that it attacks Islam, it attacks the Holy Prophet Muhammad, and it attacks those who follow Islam today.

It is akin to a question often asked of Christians: Is it true God permits a man sell his daughter into sex-slavery? Is it true that God ordered a man to sacrifice his child? In those questions, the writer would then quote from the Old Testament of the Christian Bible.

First, do we all understand that just as a Christian man would be horrified today at the idea of selling his daughter into slavery a Muslim man would be equally horrified at the idea of marrying a nine-year old?

Christians do not sell their daughters into slavery. Muslim men do not marry nine year olds. In either culture, the authorities would react with revulsion and punishment at anyone who acted in such a manner.

Second, do we understand that when we address issues such as the above, we deal with ancient events in a different culture and which involve the translation and understanding of long ago events?

When you read this question, do you understand the difference between the Holy Quran and what is found in the various hadith relating to the customs and life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad. The information concerning the age of 'Aisha at marriage is derived from various hadith.

A hadith was originally an oral tradition. Scholars would gather these oral traditions and ask where they came from. They would put together an isnad or chain of people who had passed on these traditions. And they would evaluate these people for trustworthiness. It is like a chain of custody for evidence in a police locker. They would then put the various hadith into collections.

Some traditions you would keep, because they seemed particularly trustworthy. And others you would discard, because the source seemed questionable.

If you want to understand why the Christian Bible speaks of a man selling his daughter into slavery, you must engage in study and you must talk to people who have dedicated their lifes to translating these ancient texts and have knowledge of the culture.

Likewise, if you want to study about 'Aisha, wife of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, you must actually engage your minds and delve into studying and understanding the history and culture in which she lived.

'Aisha is a controversial figure. Sunnis understand that Aisha was a learned woman, who tirelessly recounted stories from the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad and explained Muslim history and traditions. An amazing woman, she was one of the foremost scholars of Islam's early age and is a role model for women.

But Shi'a believe that Ali should have been the first caliph, and that the other three caliphs were usurpers. Because Aisha supported Umar, Uthman, and her father Abu Bakr, as well as raised an army and fought against Ali, her step-son-in-law, the Shia believe that 'Aisha wrongly rebelled against Ali.

There is controvery concerning the hadith quoted above that relate to her age. Many learned scholars accept them as accurate. Other very learned men reject these hadith as of questionable authenticity. Some feel that the references to her marriage at a very early age represented an attack upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad. Some feel that some of the people in the isnad or chain of sources for these hadith were not reliable.

If you actually care about this issue and do not simply seek to slander those who follow Islam and stir up hatred and derision against them, then you might want to read some of the links listed in the below space for sources.

Note, I am not saying she was not nine. I am not saying she was nineteen. I am saying, if you really care then you must study this issue. Is that too much to ask before you attack men who follow Islam today?

Third, ask yourself whether this writer asks a genuine question or whether this is simply an attempt to inflame the passions of those who read it against those men who follow Islam today.

If you conclude it is the second, may I ask you a final question?

Do we really need to stir up more hatred between those of different religious faiths?

Peace be on you.

Same reason the Son of the Christian God never became a licenced driver. Religion is quite a bit older than statutory rape laws, by a civilization or three. In Moses' time pedophilia was not moral concern. How old do you imagine Mary Magdelain was?

Any man, who at 54 years of age can get an erection thinking of sex with a nine year old girl, is definitely a PEDOPHILE.

And the really beautiful part is that ALL MUSLIMS believe that Muhammed led the perfect life, and TRY TO MIMIC HIS ACTIONS. Muslims love sex with children.

Did you know that Moses murdered a man? Why would God pick a Murderer rather than a non-murderer?(I am not bashing Moses, just getting a point across)

It is because Allah knows better than you.
