Im 16, and a high school basketball player (a junior) but i feel like i havent entered puberty yet. Im only like 5'4, and i walk on my tiptoes most of the time to feel taller. And im growing my hair longer (like surfer) to see if I look older. Im also extremely skinny, being only 95 pounds, and i can only bench like 60 pounds. I I get made fun of a lot for that, i dont have trouble with girls or anything, being an athlete, but still im hoping that things will change soon, What do you guys think??

I weighed about 90-95 lbs. until I was about 17, and was also an athlete (swimmer). I continued working out in the off season, and between my freshman and sophmore year I gained about 20 pounds of muscle. Between my soph. and junior year, I gained another 15 or 20 lbs. This continued, and now I'm 6'2", and weigh over 200 lbs. (of course this is many years later.)
Hang in there and keep working out. Try to eat right, and get plenty of rest and you'll keep growing. If you're 5'4" now, you probably won't be over 6 foot tall, but you should grow substantially between now and 2-4 years from now.
Good luck, and God Bless!

We all start puberty at different times, My son is 5'5 and weighs 120, he is pretty skinny, but is an awesome soccer player, many friends and girlfriends. Being physically strong just takes some time. Keep lifting weights and try drinking muscle milk you can get it at a nutrition store or even drinking ensure will help you gain weight. Good luck to you. By the way the people making fun of you will more than likely grow up to be fat anyway, just like the cheerleaders I went to school with who thought no one else existed.

Hi there;
Believe it or not you are in store for some growing real soon. Entering or ending puberty is not defined by how tall a person is.
Puberty has more to do with attaining sexual reproduction abilities.
Body growth is secondary to the onset of sexual maturity.
You can determine whether or not you will attain more body height and weight by the size of your hands and feet. If your hands and feet are disproportionally larger than your actual height then you have more growing to do.
Give yourself time and enjoy these years while they last.
:)

puberty means usually the phisical aspects of your body although a lot of mental things go with it.
it normally is from 12 or 13 years old to 15 or 16.
your manhood is functioning to reproduce other people
if it isnt see a doctor soon.

Enjoy it while you can .... one day you might wish to be skinny like that again!
No sense in trying to grow up so soon, most basketball players I was around in highschool were skinny and tall... there were a few who were short and skinny.... it's normal for that to happen.

At 16 you already know that puberty has very little to do with your height or weight. Its to do with sexual reproduction and the reproductive system. If your voice is low, and you have hairt, then you have been through puberty

Don't wait. Go to the doctor and make sure your growth hormones are all ok. It's really tough at your age to have this kind of a worry. Just get it checked out and then if all is ok you just have to wait. Eat!

Don't worry, dude. I used to have long hair and once I cut it, i realzied that I look like a little kid again (and I'm 17). So just grow your hair out down to your shoulders.
