Actually yes. Hot cocoa will get you fat, but not because the temperature or the fat in the cocoa. The cause its the milk. The fat that cocoa contains isn't saturated. In fact, chocolate (the dark one) it's a great antioxidant, thanks to the flavonoids and the Gallic acid. It also helps to keep low our cholesterol levels, and has a cardioprotective effect that it's still under study. The effects of these compounds are inhibited by the casein, a protein which its present in the milk. So, the mixture "chocolate - milk" its what get you fat, not chocolate alone.

The only way to lose weight on a diet is to stick to it 100%.

Diets are carefully planned and specifically formulated so that the person on this diet will lose weight (specifically fat) while not getting a nutrient deficiency.

If this is not within your diet then i wouldn't suggest drinking it if you desperately want to lose the weight.

Having said that I'd say go for it! You're probably a lot better looking than you give yourself credit, and so I'd always tell anyone that the more content they are the happier they will be regularly. So by all means indulge!

I don't know about the calories, but look for brands with low fat, low sugar and use hot water, low fat milk or a mix of both. Exercise will get rid of the love handles. You need to eat for energy and health (choosing good food choices of course), but you also need to exercise too. Goes hand in hand.

Depends if you are using milk or water. If you are using milk, you have to think about the type of milk - skim milk, whole milk, two percent, whatever. Milk has a lot of fat in it. I think the directions for hot chocolate involve using water most of the time.

I don't think though that this would be a good way to diet.

If you're concerned about it causing you to gain weight, try to reduce the amount that you are taking in. And also, when you're at the grocery store, look for sugar-free options. If you prefer the regular taste of hot cocoa, then go for it, but just watch how much you consume. For instance, limit your intake to one cup a day, and make sure you get in the exercise!

Best wishes.

i admire eating it extra beneficial. this is disturbing to make when you consider which you may never stir each and all of the powder in without some buildup on the perimeters of the cup. My mom makes it without that stuff and this is mind-blowing. i admire extra marshmellows- yummy! I had 2 cups final night lol
