Most churches that claim they are non-denominational are really some denomination. They have rules and regulations, and standard doctrines.
Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, and many Pentecostal churches are fairly Baptistic in their order of worship and doctrine. Their general theology is basically the same: Trinity, Virgin Birth of Christ, Jesus is the only way, heaven and hell. The differences are really minor except for the 'predestination' argument that plagues the Presbyterians and Baptist. The Methodist are much lighter in substance and the Pentecostals have some issues with spiritual gifts.

the most obvious is that baptist is a denomination. Many do not understand that the Lord's church can, should, and must be a church without being a denomination. A denomination is a division or divided part. There should not be home office, or headquarters, and no written creed. The Bible is our creed.there is not a governing board or "membership requirements" for a congregation to be in fellowship other than what is in the Bible. It is necessary to note that this open fellowship was based on doctrinal purity, or pure teaching and practice of the truth. (Galatians 1:6-9; I John 4:1) Jesus prayed that his followers would be one just as he and the Father were one (John 17:11) Being divided up into denominations with the earthly headquarters, written creeds and earthly founders goes against the wishes of Jesus.

The word "baptist" doesn't really have a good ring to it any more. In fact, it often scares people away from a church. I think non-denominational churches are pretty much the same thing but they are a little more modern and appeal to the unchurched crowd without the negative conotations of the word "baptist".
I think a lot of the Non denominational churches are starting to call themselves Inter-denominational. Meaning that they are not without a denomination but many denominations.
I think that Baptist just means that they don't do infant baptisms. Which is a lot of churches!

it all depends, because non denominational beliefs can be very different. Some more believe in good works, while others believe in Christ saved you alone Etc. Etc. Baptists main differences are they defiantly believe that baptism doesn't save you and that you should be fully immersed only after being saved, by the holly blood of Jesus (figuratively of cource.) It is really an interesting question, and this is the best answer I can give.

It depends...the thing about non-denominational churches is that they are very different (church to church). Some may be very much like baptist, some may be very different.
You should ask the churches for a printed statement of beliefs and a doctrine of practices. Weigh them against the scripture (for instance, lots of churches have banned practices that are clearly biblical...the choice doesn't "condemn" them-they're still Christian-, but I imagine you want ALL God has planned for you). After you know that you've found a church that is scriptural and doesn't prohibit biblical practices that allow you to live in God's fullness, forget about the name and become involved.

Denominational means to be a division of a part of another. A Non-denominational belief should only follow the teachings of the Jesus and the examples of the Apostles in the New Testament.

Not all "non-denominational" churches teach the same thing. If they did, they would be considered a denomination. There is no such thing as a truly "non-denominational" church, all churches adhere to a core set of beliefs in some form, just as denominational churches do, even if those beliefs are not as formalized as a named denomination.

Baptist is a denomination..... also Methodist and Presbyterian, to name a couple. Non-denomination means its Christian but doesn't follow any particular denomination.

I'm just a non denominational and i believe that baptism is for remission of sins ( Acts chp 2 verse 38 ) i also believe you can be lost after you have been saved as found in the books of Peter that refers to a dog returning to it own vomit and Revelation (i think chap 3) where names were blotted out of the book of life// Many of the Baptist teach once saved always saved and i cant find that in the bible/// as far as instrumental music is all i can say is i know the bible authorizes us to sing praises and hymns He does not command musical instruments, but He doesn't forbid it either except in the old testement book of Joel chp 4 where David's instruments were not praised... so that is open , all i know is its not displeaseing to God to sing without instrumental musical so i have chosen acapella singing ,which i think sounds better to me because the instruments take away the pleasing sounds ///
