I don't think I owed any taxes for the state(I live in ohio). I filed my federal income tax return but didn't file my ohio on time because I had no idea what was the correct form to use. Now I'm worried that I'll owe fines or something. I haven't gotten anything in the mail notifying me about not filing state taxes and I know nothing about what to do. Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Like cabjr said, if you don't owe, then they don't care if you file or not. However, if you think you are due a refund, you have 3 years to file a return for that tax year before the statute of limitations runs out for claiming any kind of refund, so keep that it mind. Also, a big misconception is that if you do not file, the federal or state notifies you as soon as the tax filing deadline is over. If you think you may owe, do not, I repeat, do not wait for a letter or phonecall. In many instances people do not recieve a letter until the next tax year, and if they owed, it was including extra penalties and interest accrued. Here is the Ohio state income tax form :

And here are the instructions on how to fill it out:

Contact H&R Block (or some similar). They can help you with the right form--and if you don't owe you won't be fined, but you should still file. If you don't owe, perhaps the state owes you.
