I have four children and I have found a few things over the years, hope they help. Public Libraries usually have a weekly story time, they read a story, pick out books, sing songs, and all the while it is helping them follow directions and develop socially. Once a month our school has a play group for the younger children. There are swim classes, tumbling classes, we have a singing and rhyming class that we go to,preschools and so much more. I have been doing most of these with my two year old and he loves it. Once a week I volunteer in my older three children's classes and I bring him with me to help, the kids love him and he colors, plays, listens to stories, counts with them, and is learning so much just by imitating the older children. He even joins me at their parties and some of the field trips (the fire station, pumpkin patch, Halloween parade around town, Field Day) Past 2nd Grade he is pretty much a distraction so I don't bring him to the oldest ones very often. I think that setting up play dates with a friend and rotating is also excellent. We usually leave them and get some of are errands done when it isn't our turn, or just enjoy getting a little adult socializing done.

My cuzin and myself partent a suited 3 y/o that often receives out of hand. we adore her, yet all of us do not forget that we ought to self-discipline. do not hit, guilt, or yell @ your newborn. next time he acts up, attempt this: Take the youngster to an portion of the abode targeted because the "time-out" section. make certain its an section the position there is little or no occurring. It would not might want to be dungeon-esque, in hardship-free words someplace the position the youngster will incredibly develop into bored. enable him do not forget that what he has finished develop into incorrect and, as result, they're getting a time-out. Say "Time-out: 4 minutes" and enable them understand they're to not flow for 4 entire minutes. walk away and enable simmer for better or less 2 minutes. LoL ensure you're @ least listening to what your newborn is doing. in the journey that they are being rambunctious, walk into the room and position them back contained in the targeted section, reminding them why they're there. If the youngster is crying, carry back YOUR tears and wait out the entire 4 minutes. Be reliable... its for the ultimate. After 4 minutes, walk back contained in the room and communicate for a second with the youngster and enable them do not forget that what they did develop into incorrect and in the journey that they do it back, they receives yet another day vacation. Its takes some practice yet, If used wisely, it will be an exceedingly usefull device. strong success!!

Check to see if you have a Recreation Center in your town or city. I have my 3 year daughter signed up at ours for Gym class, music class and next week starts Art Class. Also try to see if they have those Gym centers as somebody below answered.

Good Luck :-)

check wih your local YMCA. They have alot of great groups for toddlers. Also go to your local library. they have weekly reading groups. My local library has arts and craft days too. My advice as a preschool teacher is the library. There is so much to do there.

Check with the local YMCA or with your local parks and recreation department or community center. In our area they have nature walks, music classes, creative dance classes and art classes for toddlers and preschoolers.

Is there a playgroup at your temple or church? Maybe they'll know of something at the local library.
