It is not terrible unless you care about your eternal destiny.

Matthew 7:13-14 Enter through the narrow gate for the gate is wide and and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life and there are few who find it.

There is a difference between religion and a relationship with Jesus Christ.

You can believe what you wish to believe but it doesn't change the fact that we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Jesus paid the price for our "falling short" with His precious blood on the cross.

Hope this helps you and hope to see you in heaven some day.

I would hope that it isn't terrible because I think that's the only honest way to do it. I do think that you have to allow some outside influence to your concept of reality, though. That is what religion was supposed to do- let you socialize with others and help each other find the truth. It has gone badly wrong in many places. You are not terrible if you seek the truth, but I have to give this one bit of advice: wisdom and love are the good things, fear and ignorance are the bad things. You'll figure out the rest of the details.

I think that's how some people find their denomination.

The novelty of "making it up as you go" will eventually wear off; structure in any organization is needed. Plus, finding people who are all the 'same' when they exercise this practise is next to impossible; not much room for growth, sharing and meeting other people.

Ask yourself what you're looking for, what you like and what you don't. Surf the net or go spend some time in a book store. Even talk to various friends, family, or anyone else that comes to mind.
The most important thing is not to rush; and remember to give yourself room to grow as you change and your lifestyle changes.

Good luck and God Bless!

No it is not wrong, according to Muslim belief. Abraham was as such, he was a pure natural believer. We believe however that it is wrong if you worship idols. But according to Muslim belief, if you believe in the Higher Being or Higher Power and do good deeds, then you will be rewarded with Paradise despite what you call yourself. You are simply a believer.

Christians don't think so. I see self proclaimed Christians choosing what to believe from their own religion all the time. You don't see them going out and killing people for working on Sunday, as the Bible states they should, and none have slaves today.

As long as your belief is founded in scripture, it is not terrible, just lonely. However, you are going to me more vulnerable to the attacks of Satan who loves to divide and conquer. That is why the disciples were sent out in pairs, not solo. It is conceited of anyone to think that they do not need to depend on those of like belief for strength and wisdom.

Is it terrible? No your free to do what you want. If your asking about where you'll spend eternity, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me.

Is it terrible for people to form their own opinions? I think not!
Like opinions, religion is a personal belief, if you so choose to conform to in such a way that is personal to you, then that is for you to decide, no one else.

No. In fact it may be the only way to find the truth.

Religion is simply a lie that people tell about God.

Well that is the main unspoken doctrine of the Catholic church. A few other churches are adopting that teaching. Believe what you want-just be sure to tithe here.
