What day did ramaden start and when does the fasting and all end? On the american calendar.

I live in Cali!!! I remember it started on September 23 and it is going to end on October 23. Happy Eid!

I live in Indonesia,Ramadhan started on Sunday ,September 24,2
2006.In your country maybe on Monday because the time differen
ce between Indonesia and America is 12 hours.We muslims are fasting before down about 4. AM and break at sunset about 6.PM.
During 14 hours we do not having meal and drink and we should do good doings and avoid bad doings such as angry,quarrel,in-
sult,conceit,kill,gambling,kissing with lust etc At break fasting we can eat and drink allowed foods and drinks such as dates,fruits and milk etc.Before dawn usually at 3.00 to 4.00 AMb we eat foods and drinks that is called sahur.At night we should pray together in a mosque for about 1 hour since 7.00 PM up to 8.00 PM.This fasting for 29 or 30 days is a God's instruction as has been spoken in our holy book Al Qur'an surah 2 Al Baqarah (female cow).In the first 10 we hope to receive mercy,the second 10 we get forgiveness and the last 10 we can get free of hell punishment from our Allah the only one God.Before the end of ramadhan we should give a donation for poor person in kind of food ( 3 and a half kg rice) or pay its price in money..God reward of good doings in ramadhan will be doubled..Ramadhan is a training centre for muslims that should implement in 11 months to come for charity and especially to control our desires and avoiding satans temptation..The objective of this fasting is strengthening our faith and among others we are more social feeling and we are healthier. After the end of ramadhan on Syawal,1 we celebrate. Idul Fitri as a winning day and we should shake hand each other among family,relatives,neighbours and friends ask for forgiveness.This occasion is done after we pray together in the mosque or field at 7.00 up to 8.00 AM hearing a sermon.

Ramadan is set by a lunar calendar. Another reason the infidels claim Allah is a moon god.
