She and I are both Sophmores and she is 15 and I just turned 16, she seems to think of me as a close friend and I respect that, but she might get sort of offended If I ask her to go out with me.

She and I are both sophmores. She is 15 and I am 16. We are close friends and get along, but I think she might like some other guy. Also I am of African descent along with a million other things; do you think that might also affect anything?

Ask her ! Girls are usually waiting for you to ask in these cases . We have built in senses that attract us to certain others of the opposite sex and you can tell from your gut if it's mutual .
