There would be nothing I could do except to take responsibility for the bit person and pay compensation. My dog my responsibility for its actions.

I guess it depends on why the dog bit someone and who it bit. If it bit a predator or attacker that was trying to harm me or my family, I would buy it a big bone and send it to a doggie spa. Most people buy dogs for protection, so I would never punish it for doing what I bought it for or taught it to do, nor do I think anyone else should. However, if it attacked an innocent person for no reason, then I would wait to see what the authorities made me do. If it bit my child though, I would put it down. People should come before animals. We're on the top of the food chain for a reason! (o= I know it can be hard though, I'm a dog lover myself. Hope this helps!

Depends on the situation. Mine was reversed in which my young son was the one bitten. It was a friend's dog, therefore I didn't press charges or seek medical damages, although my son did have to have several stitches. I was obligated by law to report it to animal control via the hospital and it was my choice if I wanted the dog put down or not. If I wanted, the dog would have been put down immediately and there was nothing the owner could do about it. I chose not to since, as I said, it was a friend's dog. The dog had to be tested for rabies (standard procedure) and all its paperwork had to be verified and proved current. Then it was quarantined for a period of 3 days.
If it is your dog that you are worried about then I suggest keeping it on a very tight leash and penned up if there is concern when others are around. It is possible for someone to sue you if your dog bites them, even if it is THEM who provokes the dog. Also I would suggest a "BEWARE OF DOG" sign. At least this gives everyone a heads up that your dog is capable of biting, and that you are trying to give them fair warning. Chances are, when they see the sign, they won't provoke your dog, and all will be ok.
If it is someone elses dog you are concerned about, voice your opinions and let them know you are not exactly fond of being their dogs next afternoon snack.
Hope this helps.

Depends on the details.
I would just be very observant of my dog for 10 days.
This is how long rabies observation is. You can monitor this yourself. If you keep animal control out of it. It will be less expensive.
Basically all they do is kennel the dog for 10 days. If the dog gets crazy within the 10 days or dies it is processed for rabies. The only way to test a dog for rabies is to kill the dog. And test the brain. Now of days vets are charging an arm and a leg to keep dogs for rabies observation.

the thought of this makes me sick. I would need more information. If my dog attacked a person I would put it down If my dog was playing and someone got nipped I would pay for the bills and never stop saying I'm sorry. This is one reason it is so important that we keep our pets shots up to date

if your dog did that then you shoulds scold him, make sure your dog got shots or the person might get a horrid diseas that can be fatal. if your dog or the dog did not get it's shot hurry and call the doctor or you might get the diseas.I hope you did not get bitten but if someone you knew got bitten or your dog bitr someone you might get sued or the dog pound people might take your dog or someones dog away. (it is dangerous) i hope that you did not get bitten. I hope this helps.

I do not know what state you are in, but in some states if your dog bites. The law is the same as if shooting them it is an assault. exceptions.... to this are, if the dog was protecting you or your property and ,if it happened on your property and if you were home and was the property posted no trespassing beware of dog. Good luck

I DON'T KNOW, I GUESS I WILL CROSS THAT BRIDGE WHEN IT HAPPENS, BUT MY SON WAS AT HIS GIRLFRIENDS AND THE TWO PIT BULLS STARTED TO FIGHT AND MY SON RAN OUT THERE TO STOP IT, AND HE GOT BIT PRETTY BAD, HE HAD TO GET A LOT OF STITCH'S, AND HIS GIRLFRIEND WAS ONLY BABYSITTING THE DOGS. THEY TOLD THE OWNER OF ONE OF THE DOGS THAT THEY HAD TO COME AND GET IT AND THEY DID.
