Shin splints. That's what you got.

Likely shin splints.
I get them when I'm walking on hard ground.
You might try new shoes or padded insoles, or walk
on nonpaved surfaces for a while.

Stabbing pains in the calf muscles in the back of the leg
is more likely to be blood clots, much more dangerous...

I experience that too, and everyone said it was shin splints. Turns out that by increasing the pace of my normal walks, I was exercising a muscle in the front of my leg that I had rarely exercised before, and it was just sore. Shin Splints is like a shooting pain in your shin everyitme you take a step.

Shin splints. I used to get those too when I first started fitness walking. They will eventually go away. Just work through them, but don't over do it. Make sure you have a good pair of walking shoes and do not use them for anything else (i.e. everyday use).

It sounds to me like shin-splints. I get them when I run a lot or when I walk a lot in bad shoes. Shin-splints heal with time. Perhaps rest your legs for a few days.
I don't think the heat has anything to do with it.
Best

Sounds like you have shin splints. Try getting some better shoes for walking in. Ones with more shock absorbers in them.

sounds like shin splits, youre overworkimg your calf muscles, and they overpowering the opposite muscles which happen to be the front shin muscles, try to avoid those hills or take shorter slower steps, you might also try to exercise those front muscles with calf raises and lunges, to compensate for the imbalance. Of course consult with a doctor first, if youre in pain
