wow your mothers and fathers look damn annoying, i might hate mothers and fathers like that, so i definitely do experience for you. Im 17, and my mothers and fathers are continuously aking me to circulate out and carry close with pals, using fact thats what i should be doing at my age, extremely than caught in the domicile. Dont get me incorrect, my mothers and fathers make me learn, as quickly as I even have an examination or tests, yet come on 24/7 examining, that slightly over the suited. talk which comprise your mothers and fathers, tell them the style you experience. Or look on the colourful side, your almost 18, then you may get the hell away out of your mothers and fathers

Ask them for a reason! You at least deserve that. If their reason is that its 'just what they want' let them know that this response is insufficient and they need to be more honest with you.

What are they trying to protect you from? Don't they feel that they have done a good enough job raising you to have taught you all they know about life, so that you would be able to start living that life and making the choices they want you to make all on your own? How will you ever be able to achieve independance if they are keeping you dependant?

If you over-protect someone they become socially inept in some aspect of their life. Its mostly because of the lack of experience of how to deal with the situation.

Maybe they have trust issues with you I wouldn't know of course but surely this is obviously important enough to you, for them to relax their tight grip (for at least one night) and let you enjoy the dance which you have earned!

maybe pick up some extra chores around the house and keep up in school and just be a perfect child. perhaps then they will let you go. or see if you would be able to go and leave the dance early to come back home.

This may sound retarded but it'll work if they're reasonable. Make a powerpoint presentation and present it to them and show them that you want to go. This works since they see it as a mature way of asking them to let you go.... for some reason, try it!

Sorry, maybe next year. May as well rent some good movies, invite some friends over and be as mature as you can about it.

Goto bed early
Use pillows to make it look like you under the blankets
Jump out of the window & GO GO GO.
(but leave note next to bed or parents will think you were kidnapped)

Stay home. It's not worth the grief to do anything else.
