Mainly that the USA's FCC has rules against it.
quote "family" entertainment is to go till 9 eastern .. then more adult fare (like pg 13+ not R) comes on afterwards.
TV cannot really show a full R, NC 17, or X (nude or drama)
It was only till recently that cable could show these things too.

Because on tv they aren't really doint IT. They jsut make it sound like it...because usually someone wouldnt want to have sex with someone they barely know...
