About 19 years ago I was taken to surgery to have it removed and they gave me the large incision that you use to have before the laparoscopic surgery was in use. But, when they went in they found that it was my appendix causing the trouble and left my gall bladder in. Since the last 10 years I have had trouble with stones and attacks. A doctor told me that I couldn't have it done laparoscopic because of the scar tissue and another one told me I could. I haven't seen the surgeon yet. Does anyone out there know if I can or can't have it done laparoscopically or not.

It's really the surgeon's decision since he or she will be doing the procedure. The problem is with scar tissue from the previous incision and the skill of the person doing the surgery. This happened to me and I had to have the open surgical procedure. Either way, it's better than the pain from stones that keeps coming back again and again. Good luck with your surgery.

Laproscopic is par for the course these days as I understand it - that's how I had mine removed.

One important tip - ask your doctor to go with sutures rather than the surgical glue. I had the glue and it resulted in an incisional hernia and that recovery was hellaciously painful

Hope all goes well for you

wait until you consult with your surgeon.
so long as the scar tissue isn't too extensive, I don't see any reason why you couldn't have the laproscopy.
