I had this to happen to us. We bought my brother in laws home before he lost it and gave him lifetime rights to live there for free. When he died they tried to take it back from us to pay his bills. But it had been like 5 yrs earlier. I think i heard 3 years was the time limit( but you know the government they do what they want. )I am in N.C. And my brother bought my moms with no problems. A doctor will help BUT do you want to go to the trouble of courts and lawyers and doctors?Call the court house in the county where her property is located. They will gladly answer for you.
