Odds are if they did something more serious than would send them to a brig or detention facility, State and Federal prisons are after that. And yes violence will always be a factor of prison life. Anywhere. In other words. If you commit a serious crime and are in the military, doesnt mean that you go to a military prison. Most go to Federal Prisons. 35% of the population currently at Levenworth Federal Prison is former military.

The military prison (Fort Leavenworth) is just the same as a civilian prison. You will be treated the same and thought of the same as a criminal in a civilian prison system.

As for the comment above about smoking. The military prison just started a new policy that does not allow tobaccoo at all.

You do not want to go there but seeing how you have already asking about 5 years I am guessing you got busted already and you are headed in that direction. Good luck

Let's put it this way, civilian prisons are 5 star resorts by comparison.

Civilian prisons get all sorts of luxury. Where as you can only smoke once or twice a day and in line inside a military prison.

I noticed some of the answers have one KEY word in them...look over the above answers and that would be part of the daily jobs forced on someone in there.
not to mention the constant pain in the back side all the time..
no butt really now..
really....
one person gets hepatitis and every one can get it from just drinking the drinks offered at lunch..not to mention the tuberculosis in there and many other diseases.........

Yeah. You get cable TV, you work for something like 10 cents an hour, you are forced to excersise and you get rewarded for good deeds. Not too bad of a life, honestly. Many people go to prison on purpose just so that they can get out of poverty and life a decent life.

of course there is and it is usually more so where everyone there is highly trained and or trained, unlike in regular prisons, just mind your own business and you should get through it OK

I don't think it would be as hard core as some of the civilain prisons. I think there is more order.
