OK, please give me serious answers if you know what this is about. I have a Golden Retriever puppy that is 4 months old. We have 3 daughters, a son, my husband and myself in the house...
The kitchen is the area that we have chosen to be his area when we can't watch him every second to avoid potty accidents on the carpet. When I go into the kitchen, he immediately hops up, mounts my leg, and humps me. I have put pressure on this back paw to get him to stop...it doesn't work, he hope right back on. I have used bitter apple to get him to stop...it doesn't work, he hops right back on. My husband has used his loud voice in a firm "NO" and he backs off for a minute or 2, but then as soon as my husband leaves the room...you guessed it! He hops right back on.
He is not neutered at this point, as he is only 4 months old. He doesn't do this to any of the daughters, and no company....just me! I don't understand! This happens everyday, it is not because of a menstrual cycle, as I have had

At four months this has nothing to do with you being female or any menstral thing it is very plain and simple DOMINANCE. He is trying and sounds like he is wining the top dog status at least with you.
The next time he jumps on you grab him and throw his butt on the floor turn him over on his back forceably and hold him there holding his neck.Make him stay belly up for a minute. Then let him up. If he trys again do the same thing and rasie your voice with him.
If you do not take control NOW you will have no control later.
Also get him neutered as soon as you can.
He is trying to establish the pack order and at this point you are below him as you are being humped.

Could it be that your voice is "too soft" & he does not respect you as he would when your husband says in a firm voice NO ? I suggest you get him "fixed' as soon as possible, for the obvious reason of the dogs weight being less than later, since he'll be pretty heavy at some point, but sometimes male dogs act this way with female owners. My male dog masturbates 5-6 times per day & trust me I have not ever seen this before, I raise dogs for a long time, all my dogs try to hump each other, they are all male, go figure that one out, three out of four are already neutered.
Why don't you try to change your tone of voice to a VERY firm one whenever he does what he does, one he never heard coming from you. Are you the one who's more around in the house than the rest of the family? He must be taught by you you
are dominat not he, so give it a try with the change of voice & get him neutered soon, good luck

Man, that's sounds almost freaky, I can only suggest that you have him neutered as soon as possible. Also contact the vets office and just ask them what they think you can do for right now. The it's only you thing is odd, he is just a pup so he might grow out of it but again call the vet. Best of luck w/that. I have had several male dogs and I don't recall them ever doing that.
Don't give up, a golden retriever is a great dog for the kids I hope it all works out for the best of the family.

Sounds like a power struggle with your husband, dogs do keep a part of the wolf pack mentality instilled in them and if the dog senses you out as the Beta "female at the top" then he may be challenging you husband for Alpha position. Is your husband away from the home often? He may want to work with the dog and assert his position so that the dog will assume the Omega position. This link may help you...

Its a dominance issue for him, Are the primary care giver? If so he is trying to establish that he is Alpha. In dog packs (families) there is always a male and female Alpha. when he does this, speak with a strong firm voice and tell him NO. he will need Obediance class and nuetering will help too, but not always. I had 2 male Boxers who were both fixed, and one was always trying to "push" the other one across the yard...lol We also use to call it piggy back rides! lol

Wow I think he likes you. Actually he is dominating you. He thinks he is the pack leader and you are subordanate to him. Do not use force and hurt him as he will not learn anything from it. You need to dominate him back by eating in front of him and making him respect you. There is a guy here that I think may have the answers read his site and posting. He needs to be nuetered soon for it to stop. Check some of the canine web sites for your breed of dog. There may be some answers also check animal planet.com maybe an answer will be there.

Some dogs tend to be attracted to certain people more than others. My Golden does the same thing to a boy down the road. We even started calling my dog Michael Jackson. So far we're waiting to breed my dog before neutering him, but I'm not sure if there is a cure for a dog that seems as adamant as yours.

He does not see you as a leader, and is trying to assume the dominance role.

You need to make sure you:
1. Get him neutered ( visit http://www.friendsofanimals.org )
2. Do not let him through any doors before you.
3. Eat before him and let him see you eat.
4. Mix his food in his bowl with your hands to put your scent on it.
5. Teach him obedience, sit and down are simple.
6. Do the "Nothing In Life is Free" with him... email me and I will help.

You need to nip this in the bud NOW. Not later. Please email me at libertydogtraining@yahoo.com and I will help explain the Nothing in Life is Free method.

Do not try using pressure on his paw, kneeing him in the chest, or any of those physical methods. Any type of reaction like this enforces the behaviour, whether you want it to or not.

the reason your dog stops when your husband says no is because he views your husband as alpha. the humping thing is a domination thing, he is trying to make you the omega of the group. pop him on the nose, just hard enough to get him to stop. you have to show the puppy that you And your husband are both alpha.

my dogs are both female and found out the deal of humping isnt a sexual thing because my lab(female) will mount my st. bernard/lab mix (also female)

In dog he is asserting himself. Mounting means a bite on the nose in wolf pack alpha male is the only one that mounts. You have to become the Pack leader again. Leaving dog in the kitchen? to defecate on the floor? Bad news you have to exert more authority dog likes pack leaders to assert them self's time for more human training! Kitchen has become where the dog does not want to be. And any kind human will do! showing he loves you he wants to be walked and directed as to what you want dog to do.
