Mine was free, because I borrowed it from my sister in law.

I know David's Bridal almost always has a $99 sale. You can also try Consignment Shops- places where ladies bring their dresses for sale-- you can also find a prom dress that is simple and add the "pretties" you want.

well a friend of mine who for her second wedding, bought a dress at Sears or JCPenny after prom season bought a white long gown (a prom dress) with a lacy open back (very nice and a bit sexy) for about $30.00 You can find a lot on clearance......maybe a relative may have one you can borrow or alter.

David's Bridal has an annual $99 dress sale. Resale shops frequently have used wedding dresses in good shape for very inexpensive.

if you go to the good will or second hand stores they have them for under 20.00 dollars, also if you have some time before you are to be married, ask everyone you know to keep an eye out for a gown, some brides want to hold on to their gowns, but it is a lot of trouble, and they may loan you one. put the word out to friends and family

no one can quote u an alteration over the net. call a local seamtress or tailor in your yellow pages or ask for referrals. never use a bridal salon or a davids bridal. if $$ is so tight, cant u wait to get married???

a wedding dress is that because it is the outfit/gown you choose to be married in. it does not have to be **Traditional**- just something that suits your personality
so just keep looking ; goodwill shops ( you dont have to tell anyone that it where you got it) ; sales; borrow something from a friend/relative;
if you have a friend/relative who sews - maybe they might be willing to make you an outfit. for fabric you could buy something from a goodwill store & pull that apart.
use your imagination

mine. $37 at the mall... after prom sale... easy enough to make it work if you have an outdoor wedding, I wouldn't recommend for a church wedding or an upscale wedding... but it was something that I was proud of, considering the fact that you only wear it one day for like 5 hours... spend the $$$ on your honeymoon.
