I can't play my .avi files! -holds up a sigh- HELP!

Try this.... open windows media player... select
Tools
Options
Files types Tab
Place a check in all boxes..
Click Apply
And perhaps you need to upgrade to versions 10 or higher.

Download windows media 11 beta automatically down loads codec files and will play your avi files.

maybe windows media player is not the default player for avi files.
right click the file
then open with
then click windows media player

you probably dont have the codec for *.avi. Search the web, there are lot's available. Try NEMO CODEC. You can also use VLC player, try downloading, pretty cool.

You don't have the right codecs and you probably have and older version then wmp 9.

hmm.u probally need a codec....here are 2 i found useful...
one is for picture...one is for sound

http://www.divx.com/divx/windows/ ...when u install this...u dont need to install nothing but the codes...u will see a option to install the divx player..divx converter...all i downloaded was the codes and nothing else...works great now
