Almost everyone in here is just guessing about dinosaurs,
no one really knows for sure if, when or why they were here.
The animals mentioned in the Bible could have been some kind of dinosaur like some mentioned but who really knows for sure.
Second, about Christian lunatics. Did you want to know what Christian lunatics believe or what sane Christians bbelieve? Lunatics will believe almost anything. Sane Christians have a variety of opinions on the subject of dinosaurs.
Third for the lunatics that answered this question, all those that believe in Jesus Christ, even if their believe is a little different than yours, are considered Christians. Mormons believe in Jesus Christ thereore they are Christians. For the few sane Christians that answered this question you already knew who Christians are.

I have been receiving visits from Mormon missionaries and they tell me they believe it is quite possible that evolution as described by Darwin and other scientists could very well have taken place in the past. I have heard Christians of other denominations claim that no such things as dinosaurs ever existed though. Interestingly, the Bible mentions 'dragons' a number of times, as well as 'behemoth' and 'leviathan', though there is a lot of disagreement on just what sort of creatures these may have really been, or whether they were just mythical. But I have known of plenty of Christians who accept evolution at least tentatively.
Btw, Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God & that he died to redeem mankind from sin. To me, that means they ARE 'Christians', however strange some of their other doctrines may seem to some of you. Okay, so I don't buy that story about Joseph finding the tablets either, but it is also hard for me to believe in the Trinity, the Atonement, and some of the miracles, like Jesus taking a stroll across Lake Galilee.

Well, if you think about it, mankind is not that old, neither is the earth....
I have my own theory about dinosaurs. I believe Christ organized the world with matter that was unorganized, which could have contained what we know to be dinosaur bones. I don't really believed they actually lived on the earth before we did...but that's my own crazy theory. Also, God would have had to know we needed things like gas and petroleum and stuff that comes from fossils and things so I am sure he provided them here somehow. I don't know about the "testing" us...how would we be tested from dinosaurs? besides, this whole life is a test.
Does it really matter how/when/why dinosaurs existed???

Mormons are Christian.
That said... "God put fossils there to test us".. That's either not the whole story of the conversation, or somthing is really confused. I'm mormon, and have never heard that, Nor would i ever repeat that.
I also want to say, Mormon Missionaries are just 19-21 year old boys who have studied their doctrine. They are in no way prepared to answer existential questions about dinosaurs.

None.......
The Bible actually mentions creatures that are like nothing you can compare to here on earth right now. I venture to say that Dinasaurs lived with man and died in the flood. My thoughts.
I do know that Mormons are not Christians aswell....
Try as they might, No Christian I know thinks they can get their own planet and become God as well.
And for tylersim or whatever your name is.
You are not a Christian. you negate the sacrifice of Christ by thinking that you MUST do works to get to your level of heaven and that only Mormons can get there. You worship other Gods and believe that Satan and Jesus are brothers. Where is that in the Bible?
You use the excuse that you believe in the Bible as long as it is translated correctly. what to suit your beliefs., I have seen your Bible. Lots of little foot notes to the BoM and the PoGP and the D&C.
wow that is a translation?
Just like I do not profess to be Mormon do not profess to Be Christian because it is more appealing to people

Well, I'm a Christian and I personally believe that dinosaurs did exist but they wouldn't fit on the ark. They were all destroyed in the great flood. That explains all the fossils and also why they are not in existence today.

WHAT?????
Oh dear!
If they actually read Genesis they would realize that 1. God made the heavens and the earth. 2. And the earth was a great void and formless and 3. God said "Let there be light".
After that time is actually measured as it was not before the season of man.
God destroyed the earth after Lucifer and 1/3 of the host of heaven rebelled and that is why it was "a great void and formless".
There is no indication how long the first earth was around for.
Even the bible talks about dinosaurs in the book of Job when the Behemoth is described by God.
Again, elsewhere the Liviathon is mentioned as a sea dwelling monster that matches the amphibious dinosaurs.
Sheesh!

I will answer your question with a question...
Considering all the questions that might really matter that you could have asked the missionaries, why did you deem it so important to talk about dinosaurs?
Seems a little closed/narrow/small minded to me that when people have an opportunity to learn something that might enlighten or even enhance their life, that they react in a knee-jerk way.
Seems like you are not very confident in your faith, whatever it may be, or else you are afraid that what you might hear and learn is really true!

So what dude? Mormons believe Joseph Smith found Golden tablets written in Egyptian Heiroglyphics which he then miraculously found a pair of huge golden rimmed glasses that he looked through to translate the Egyptian writing. HAHAHA, but somehow they don't posses these things anymore. Don't judge Christianity by nut cases man.......

It's a funny thing.
I love the above answer that Mormons aren't Christians... sometimes people even say that Catholics aren't Christians.
Folks, what makes you a Christian is believing in the divinity of Jesus Christ. Get it? That's why the word looks the way it does.
Mormons believe in Christ. Mormons are Christians. Deal.
