Before I start I wanted to say I'm not looking for sympathy... just for people who are like me. I started self injuring my junior year. It started with cutting up my legs and arms. Now I don't cut anymore but burn myself. I'll take a cigarette and put it out on my body until it's all the way gone. It helps me to relax. Does anyone else have this problem? Especially with burning?

I used to cut also. It was pretty bad I was hospitalized for that and suicide 5 yrs ago. When I was hospitalized I had over 200 cuts on my body. What made me stop was the man I was going to marry made me look at myself undressed in front of a mirror. He said he couldn't watch me die like this instead we started talking more and it worked even though I struggle everyday with wanting to cut I keep thinking of those words and the promises I made him. Find someone you trust that you can talk to It will help.

Many people have that problem. It is the signal of an emotional problem. Please tell someone you trust about this and get help. I know a 15 year old girl who did not get the correct help and she ended up going out of state to an inpatient facility. She is getting better but will be there a year or more.

I know you are not looking for sympathy, but you do have mine. I wish the best for you. And again, please talk to someone.

I do not have that problem, but I was diagnosed as chronically depressed years ago. Do not suffer alone. Get help. Accept that you need help. Your life does not have to continue like this. It can be less stressful and happier!

NO, but have you thought about gettng help? it may relax you (mentally) but physically ruining your body. You can be better than that. no significant other? family? please try to see someone, I hate to see someone do that to themselvs.
