To me, 50,000 miles is brand new.
My Suburban has 250,000 and my firebird has 175,000.
That was a perfect time to buy it. The first few years of a vehicles life they depreciate drastically. With that many miles, they most likely drove it on long trips. This wears the engine a lot less than many short trips. Being a Jeep, the one concern is whether they took it off road a lot. You can tell by crawling under it and looking for signs of going over rocks and stuff. When you go off road, it is hard not to get scrapes, dents, and obvious signs of going off road. There may even be plants hanging on under there still. My truck has many dents, bent brackets, scrapes, on the bottom as well as long scratches from bushes along the sides. If you don't see any of these signs, that is good.

(See below)
Well, here's the Kelley Blue Book value for a generic 2004 Cherokee (You didn't say the condition, options, and engine size it has). Add in that information and you'll get a better estimate, but it's good condition value is $12,710, so it sounds like a good deal.

Edit: The original link didn't work, so I replaced it with the main page to start. Just add in your information and you'll get a good estimate.

i own a repair shop, and personally i think it was a pretty good deal on it,,i had one here i sold for a customer and it sold for 15 thousand and it had around 60 thousand miles on it and it was a one owner vehicle,i put brakes on it and sold it less than a week,so i think you got a real good deal, don't worry about the mileage on it,,it don't hurt a thing,,its broke in good now,and probably all the small problems with it have been taken care of ,but yes i could have gotten more for it especially this time of year enjoy it,,you did alright on it,good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

A little bit of kilometers for 3 years. 1 owner is a good sign.
I would have to see the mechanical status.

Too late now, you have already bought it.
50,000 miles is not a lot

the average mileage per year is around 12000 to 15000 so mileage wise you are close.you can look under kelly blue book prices and find out how you stand money wise

Not sure about the price but the mileage (16000 per year) is not so bad

High miles, but if they were made mainly in the highway it is ok.
