No, call doctor if you think it is not strong enough. Never self prescribe, some depression medication can trigger suicidal thoughts. I have taken several different depression medicines & they all have different side effects that occur at different dosages.

I'm a 5th yr pharmacy student. You should NOT increase the dose by yourself without approval from your doctor. They take at least 6 weeks to really work and 8 weeks before you seen any real benefit will be seen. You've been on the drug about 2 weeks? the doctor should have scheduled an appointment in 2 weeks to double check any side effects.

hope this helps!

I'm using it and for any reason you should change the dosage> You'll have up and down but after 3-4 weeks the medication stabilize in your body and you should get more effective benefits. Any change or any concerns should be shared with your doctor and even to keep the chemistry balanced when you and he will decide to stop, he'l decrease the dosage> If you feel down, you should help yourselp with some counselling sessions too, to learn how to deal with problems> Good luck!

Hi. You really should give it at least 3 weeks (preferrably 4 weeks) before you attempt to change the dosage. Even then, be straightforward with your doc before you UP your dosage. This is a great medication. Just give it time to work and don't change your dosage without your doc's approval.

Yes, it usually takes 4-6 weeks to feel the full benefit of most anti-depressants. Do not take more without consulting your doctor.

Wait 6 weeks and then ask your doctor to recommend a higher dose if you feel you need one. Anti depressants take time to readjust the serotonin levels. If you up it yourself you could easily experience nausea, diarrhea, increased secretion of body fluids (sweat, tears, saliva, and urine), fatigue, and muscle weakness. Convulsions are possible. Death can occur due to respiratory failure and heart failure.

It is safer to follow medical direction. God loves you and you are precious to Him.

In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!
(Digestion of above can even prevent depression and suicide attempt.)
