What's okay to do with the opposite sex that is not intercourse? I'm a Seventh Day Adventist and I was wondering if masturbation is considered a sin? And would it be okay to masterbate if it is the lesser of two evils. I think, if a person masterbates they can release sexual tension without going out and having extra-marital sex. But I guess they could always try and find alternative methods of dealing with their sexual tension. But really, what are the limits of opposite sex interactions. I haven't done anything yet and would like to know my boundaries.
Or could someone point me in the direction of bible passages so I could form my own opinion?

Please don't attack me. I haven't done anything and I don't plan to have sex before i'm married, and I don't masterbate.

Any sexual activity outside of the confines of marriage between one man and one woman. As far as masturbation, you are best to not even ask because you will get all kinds of different answers. The bible is silent on the issue of masturbation so therefore that is best answered by yourself and is nobodies business.

There is no such thing as sin. Masturbation is a safe way of taking care of your needs without involving another person. If your a woman you can go for quite a while and you will learn what you like and what turns you on. Then you can use this to help your lover to satisfy you. Nothing wrong or sinful about being a human. Religion is full of nonsense the sooner you dump superstitious beliefs the better your life will be. The Bible is a book of story's to show people who were very primitive what to do. These concepts in some places apply and in others are nonsense. You have to use your brain. By the way that is where sex actually happens in the brain. If your brain ain't into it then nothing will happen.

It depends on how "good" an Adventist you want to be. Christians do not agree on the boundaries of "sexual sin" and non-Christians agree even less.
All doctrines aside, I'd say ask yourself if what you want to do hurts someone. Does it exploit another person? Does it poison your attitude toward the people you are attracted to? (Make them into objects.) Is it detracting from the development of your character? Is it becoming an obsession at the expense of more loving actions?
Your minister or congregation may have specific moral objections but I doubt that God cares about details. Don't scandalize, don't humiliate, don't act out of selfishness. Do all things out of love and you probably won't go wrong.

I think you are the best judge of what is right and wrong. I'm not Seventh Day Adventist, but I am religious. The fact that you got on here to ask is an answer in and of itself.. something didn't feel right about what you were doing. If you asked to get justification, that is exactly what you will get from most everyone on here. You know best for yourself what is right.

Most people say that masturbation is a sin, although I have seen people use I Corinthians 10:13 to say that masturbation could be God's way out of temptation.

The Bible is silent on the topic of the big "M". Fornication and adultery are definitely sins, however. Dr. Dobson believes "M" is not much of an issue with God, and so do I. The thoughts that accompany it may be a sin, however.

Look, stop looking for ways around it. Its like youre trying to commit a crime but get off on a technicality. So many people cherry pick the rules they want to follow. Just ask yourself this one question. If you were in the presence of God, would I feel like it was okay to do this (whatever it may be), that will give you your answer.
You are letting your body govern your rationale, rather than letting your rationale govern what your body should do.

Lust, fornication, adultery. The Bible calls it an abomination for a
man to lay with a man, or a woman to lay with a woman, lude or
lascivious thoughts. These are sins.

A sexual sin occurs when you do something sexual to someone against their wishes, regardless of what exactly the given behavior may be.
