Really, you have to tell her that it is worth the try and that she needs to come to a conclusions that even if he denies or invitation, there'll always be other fish in the sea! Explain to her that she is amazing and will continue to be amazing with or without him!

Ok... well really if he doesn't care much about her, then she should go to someone who would stop to listen to what she has to say about ANYTHING... so i don't really think she would be happy with him.. But anyways
First she needs to kinda hang out with him and his friends a little... then she needs to start a simple conversation like "hey! how are you?" and just a little.. then make a little bigger conversation. Then Your friend can tell him that she likes him and thinks he is very fun... and nice. Then ask him if he wants to go to the dance with her.. and that she would be very Honered... and if he's one of those popular kids add that he is good looking.. or just don't, he might not be interested. So just make sure she is very sure of herself and not stutter while talking.
Good luck... and i hope it works...

dont do her any favors. sounds like he is very immature. give your friend a better idea. find someone else. if you must talk to him you may not have the good result you hope, but maybe, it would be easier on your friend to hear a negative comment from you after you interfere.
