We know Da Vinci was very much into word games and playing on words.

Salai was the word used most in all of Da Vinci's journal. Salai was da vinci's lover & assistant.

Mon - means "My" in french. So "Mon Salai" would mean "my salai"

I also found a painting of Salai with an unknown artist and it matches up PERFECTLY over the Mona Lisa.. M on Salai? maybe

Do you think this is just a coincidence? If it is how could you explain it other than the theory I have on my web site itsjustlife.com (that's where the pictures are)

Also, I don't know who to contact to release my findings. Obviously they are significant because if i'm right i've figured out who the mona lisa really is and found a new painting that's previously unknown to be painted by Da Vinci (world's greatest painter)

I think you may be mistaken. I'm an academic and my chosen area of research is art history of the Renaissance period and in particular Leonardo da Vinci. I've personally handled a number of his works and can tell you now that you theory lacks substance.

I know what Salai probably looks like as I'm familiar with Leonardo's depictions of him and there is no evidential proof that The Mona Lisa is anyone other than who historians believe her to be.

Your theory needs backbone and only a primary source such as a note from Leonardo or Salai for example, stating that this was so would give it credence. There isn't a serious academic who would give you the time of day on this if all that you can come up with is to superimpose one image over another.

I'm sorry to be so negative but this is how things are.

As for a new Leonardo painting I'm also doubtful. I can tell you how to authenticate a work but I'm not convinced you have the knowledge to do so. You tell me the analysis and expert opinion you've used to verify its creator and I'll be the judge of its authenticity.

I don't mean to be rude but I think you're in a little world of your own rather than being a serious art historian. You and Dan Brown would get on very well I think.

this is actually all very interesting. u should contact some museums or something, probably some museums in Italy, or perhaps whichever museum the real Mona Lisa is displayed at. I hope u r right in ur findings. Good luck with all of this. u seem like a very intellectual person and u have definitely uncovered more than just a coincedence. so anyways... good luck.

well, the woman in the painting really isnt named Mona Lisa. so maybe Da Vinci purposely did that.
