I've been married 4 times and they all still love me ! It's only as friends now though .
I believe everyone in your life is there for a purpose at that time , to either to teach you or learn from you !
By the way this was not a planed thing for me I'm not crazy or anything ,
8 1/2 yrs. , 11 yrs. 1 /12 , and now 13 1/2 and counting .
I still love them all because no one is a throw away being .

"Nearly all marriages, even happy ones, are mistakes: in the sense that almost certainly (in a more perfect world, or even with a little more care in this very imperfect one) both partners might be found more suitable mates. But the real soul-mate is the one you are actually married to."
Tolkien said this. I like to believe that there is one person that you are supposed to be with, but does this mean that you could not have a successful marriage with someone else? I doubt it.
If there is not one person that fits you better than everyone else, however, I think Tolkien's quote really hits the nail on the head. It will probably never be proven either way, but true love happens with the person you are with. Building a loving, trust-filled, compassionate, self sacrificing relationship is the true sign of soulmates.

You MAKE the one. Every day. the person you marry. You make the choice to make your spouse the one. every time you are respectful and cherish that person you are CHOOSING to make that person the One. Now God DOES have a hand. He does have his preferences. He's not going to stick a saint with a drunk. You CHOOSE. it's called free will. He would prefer to stick you with someone a little more your type. I have no idea who he would like me to be with but I'm extremely curious. but I'm letting him call the shots. I just showed up to see what happens. frankly, I'm her ewith the popcorn watching the show. and it's getting really interesting. LOL! Some perople fit you more than others. obviously, someone unconventional will not be happy witha 9-5er and it takes them a long time to realize this. but they choose the 9-5er for the security. and that he wrong reason. it is because they have no fiath. the unconventional person needs to look for someone as unconventional and HAVE faith in God to PROVIDE the security. The unconventional person will be alot happier both emotionally and piritually. so it's the same with all other types.

I don't believe a deity has anything to do with it. I think given the number of people in the world we as individuals will be very compatible with more than just one. To think out of only approx 6 billion people you only get a shot at one is absurd.

No one 'plans'. Life happens, there are lots of people out there you could possibly fall in love with, and no one is 'perfect' or fits 'perfectly'. We live, we love (or we dont) and we die. End of story.

Well, I don't even fit me perfectly. Not sure about another one in the mix, much less two.
