I embrace legal immigration- it is what the country was founded on and makes it so great. The atrocities of illegals are what drive this country down the sh*tter.

There are waaaay too many of them. The US has always welcomed (non-criminal) immigrants. However, our country can only safely absorb about 100,000 a year. That's the rate they came here during the historic Great Migration part of our history. Over the last decade, the number has dramatically increased to over 1 million a year. That is 10 times the maximum safe level (also 10 times the previous maximum rate). It's causing tremendous social problems and negatively impacting the quality of life here. For a more indepth study (backed up with stats), check out the www.numbersusa.com site. We are actually in some serious trouble from extreme irresponsibility with regard to the immigration issue. There is no debate. We either cut out the foolishness or our economy will collapse. Which is, of course, the goal of most people on the pro-immigration side.
As far as rights go. We are a soveriegn country. Of course we have the right to decide who comes here and not. That right is backed up with force. Because we are an enlightened, merciful society, we avoid that issue. But, make no mistake. People who want to use force to destroy our way of life using criminal behavior, in this instance, with criminal immigration, will wind up dead. That's all there is to it. Those La Raza idiots better recognize.

Yes, I welcome any legal immigrant. Quite frankly, I am tired of hearing about how the natives had their land taken away...blah blah blah. I wasn't alive then, so why am I being reminded every day that their land was taken. Their land is about to be taken all over again by the illegal Mexicans.
Legal immigrants are more than welcome here. They come in legally and already speak the language. They do not have to steal innocent people's SS#'s and birth certificates. Granted, there are Americans that do that too. They raise their children with the English language, so the school system does not need to hire extra bilingual teachers to teach them.
Can you imagine what would happen if people from 10 different countries came to the US with their children and did not know English? We would have to hire teachers for each language, which means the school system (tax payer) would have to pay to teach more teachers how to speak "their" language. Then we would have to build more schools, so that our children would get the education the deserve, because the other school would be filled with illegals trying to learn English before they can teach them what the alphabet is.

Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials haven’t been sharing that idea with us
Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue. Under Mexican law, it is a FELONY to be an illegal alien in Mexico
The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens – and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens, illegal and illegal. Under the constitution, the Ley General de Población, or General Law on Population, spells out specifically the country’s immigration policy.
If the United States adopted such statutes, Mexico no doubt would denounce it as a manifestation of American racism and bigotry.

Yes, we welcome them with open arms and have for many many years. Most of us are descendants of immigrants one way or the other. I have a small percentage (25%) of American Indian and the rest is a mix of Irish and English I believe. These folks just need to do it the right and legal way. That is the way it has been done since the US began. All countries have laws regarding immigration and we are not different.

yes. We are all, or most of us, legal immigrants. Even the native Americans came here from somewhere else.

I was born here as was my family for many generations, so I AM a native American.
As it happens I also welcome legal immigrants so long as the laws are as they are now, to protect our schools and services. I just think they need to be enforced. I would not be ok with making mass immigration of poor people legal beyond what we now allow, because the impact of that sort of immigration policy is already apparent from illegal immigration. It ruins our schools, for starters. Importing poverty is bad policy.
However, as things are, I welcome legal residents.

Legal immigrants are welcome as legal immigrants built this country and unless one is a native American we all have legal immigrants in our past. It is the illegal aliens that are criminals and we need to enforce our laws.
