My finance and I are having cupcakes instead of wedding cake. I would like to use the cupcakes as the centerpieces on each table. My FH's uncle is making our cake. I'd like to see some pictures if anyone has any.
I've already searched yahoo and google. Didn't come up with much.

Nope, I'm not confused. Ha, we know what we want. I was just looking for pictures. I think people can choose what they want for their wedding. That's why it's THEIR wedding, right? I abbreviated future husband with FH, my appology. We are having a simple wedding and I think the cupcake idea is cute!

Don't you take any notice of that mean old kittyrogers - she gave me an equally useful reply for a question I posted about wedding favours - she's just a miserable cow sometimes (well, most times, actually - lol)

Now, you're right it's YOUR day. I think the cupcake idea is a great one (no, not trailer park trash either).

I asked my brother if he would consider making our wedding cake as he is a real gun in hte kitchen and he actually came up with the idea of cupcakes himself, which was the first I had heard of it. He is going to ice our intials intertwined on each

In my opinion, they would look classy as a centrepiece in a tiered effect. I have a maagazine with some great pics, but I'm in Australia so you probably won't be able to get the mag where you are (I'm presuming you're in the US)

I think the cupcake idea is the cutest thing EVER. It makes your wedding so fun and enjoyable! Plus, who doesn't love cupcakes?

I have posted a link below to a really cute square cupcake centerpiece w/the initials of the party thrower on top.

I've also included a cupcake tree with cupcakes that have icing on top to make them look like flowers.

Again, I totally love your idea!

(these are mini wedding cakes (the size of a cupcake but made to look like their larger tiered counterpart)

Now... to those of you who do not like the cupcake idea, dont do it at your own wedding..... however you should refrain from insulting others for their likes and dislikes. It is more inappropriate for you to insult someones opinions than it is for that person to have their own opinions.

Stand strong if a cupcake tree is what you and your FH want!

I LOVE this idea, very original, and much less expensive than traditional flower centerpieces. I've seen cupcake trees somewhere. I found a couple of websites that sell the holders. I'm not sure what you want pictures of. You can decorate the cupcakes however you want, I recommend using the same colors as the bridesmaids gowns. This is such a great idea.

My fiance and I actually discussed doing something similar to this, except with small cakes instead of cupcakes. Then, we realized how EXPENSIVE it was going to be! The best way to display cupcakes would probably be a "cupcake tree," which you can get at baking stores or hobby shops. These generally run around $10+ a piece. Then, you have to pay for the cupcake ingredients, the decor, etc. We're just having little goldfish in bowls as centepieces now; they run around $2.50 a piece in total.

that's a unprecedented concept! you may want to attempt this rather of favors, have the cupcakes on the tables for travelers to devour even as they anticipate dinner. yet make certain the cupcake stands look strong even even as they're empty with the aid of the undeniable fact which will be your centerpiece even as the cupcakes are lengthy gone. Ask your caterer about doing cupcakes, a specialist will understand the authentic thanks to shop the frosting strong.

I had thought of using cupcakes at our reception. I would have done them in the shape of daisy's or colored gerbera flowers. put one brown or yellow one in the middle of a cake stand and put the yellow or white ones around that center one to make the petals. Use them as centerpieces on the tables. Simple but inexpensive and cute, depending on your theme and colors.

I love the idea of going with cupcakes. Just ignore that one person who gave you a very negetive answer a few up from mine. They are obviously a very negetive person.

Here are some sites with cute photo's too

I don't have any pictures but I think that that is a great idea. You might want to log on to Food Network for more info. Try contacting the local culinary school and see if they would come up with some ideas. Very creative, would have never thought of that.

I think cupcakes are cute but one small problem, if there are any kids around they probably wont last long as center pieces ;) Just a thought.
