Depends on where you live. I live in Wisconsin and if I do a search for wisconsin circuit court access I can check the records of anyone here.... nice when you are single and dating ;)

You can go to the local police department and ask for a police record. It helps if you know their name and social security number. I'm sure that each one has its own rules, but it probably helps if you have a reason for getting it - like you're hiring them to do some job for you.
For convictions and trials, you can also try online with the county correctional department and prosecutor's office. I've found good stuff there too.

And of course you could hire those companies that do background checks, but I don't know their quality.

there is a couple of websites that allow any employer or someone posing as an employer for a price to check the background for federal offences and drug and alchol arrestsbesides that you r out of luck

If you knew what county they are in you can. I know that if you go on whitepages.com you can do a people search and you may find the answers you need there. I know that when I did a search for my sister n law I had to know what county he was in.

You can have a background check done by the local police. There is a charge for this.

i know if you google the persons name it will show active warrents for their arrest
