I don't know much about it, and I'm not going on it, I'm just a little curious. I know some people who are on it have to supplement the crap out of themselves with multivitamins to make up for nutrients they can't get on the diet, and one of my friends mentioned that she can't mix up a fruit salad for a bedtime lunch, but she can knaw on a chunck of stake. It seems like a lot of meat is included in the diet. Maybe people loose weight by sticking to it, but is it really healthy?

This is a good question to ask Dr. Atkins....

Oh wait, you can't... he died of a Heart Attack from his own diet.

PS
Atkins is Not a healthy diet. Get rid of ALL the junk food; chips, pop, cake, pie, cookies...ect. Eat lots of fruit, vegistalbes, fish, poltery, and soy products. Limit red meats.

Completely avoid, Hight Frucose Corn Syrup, all foods that have Hydrogenated Oil of any kind.

Eat about 1,200-1,600 calories per day. Always have balanced meals... Carbs, Some healthy fats, and protien.

You will be healthy on the inside and look great on the outside.

With any diet you go on it's recommended you take multivitamins, not just with the Atkins Diet. I tried the diet a few years ago and I personally got bored with it because it's very repetitive and strict with what you can eat and can't eat. I was craving carbs and sugar the whole time. I lost about 10 pounds with it and gained it right back. It's not healthy in that meat shouldn't be your only source of nutrients because it isn't good for your heart. I don't think the Atkins Diet is meant to be a lifelong diet plan anyway.

Everyone I know that has been on Atkins has lost weight and have quickly gained it back. It is NOT worth it. I don't know anyone (or have heard of anyone) who has kept it off long term. I had a friend who decided to have some carbs over a weekend and she gained 3 lbs over 2 days!

Atkins really digs the fat out of you, but you will quickly gain it back after you quit.
