Killing is an act of violence and eating beyond the need to ensure survival is endulgence. So meat-eaters eat for endulgence.
Eatinf flesh and blood seems like a satanic ritual for me. Could it be that meat-eaters are deceived by the devil the same as Eve was, withouth knowing it?
I am not trying to offend anyone, please only serious answers.

I see on the agression of some answers, people ARE offended.
I am a vegan and I eat vegan vitamin supplements. I also studied Nutritional Sciences. I am looking for philosopic answers within religion, I am not accusing anyone. Why don't people think before they answer?

Right, this is a hypothetic question!!! I am not asking whether you like meat or not.
But looking at the lack of intelligence in the carnivore's answers...well....
We are not carnivores anymore as we have free will, which animals who are driven by instincts are not. In psychology this is called the Theory of mind.

The Vaishnava philosophy teaches that we should not even kill plants unnecessarily. In the Bhagavad-gita (9.26) Krishna (God) says: "If someone offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit, or a little water, I will accept it." We offer Krishna only the kind of food He demands, and then we eat the remnants. If offering vegetarian food to Krishna were sinful, then it would be Krishna's sin, not ours. But God is apapa-viddha-sinful reactions are not applicable to Him. Eating food first offered to the Lord is also something like a soldier's killing during wartime. In a war, when the commander orders a soldier to attack, the obedient soldier who kills the enemy will get a medal. But if the same soldier kills someone on his own, he will be punished. Similarly, when we eat only prasadam (the remnants of food offered to Krishna or God), we do not commit any sin. This is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (3.13). "The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food that is first offered for sacrifice. Others, who prepare food for personal sense enjoyment, verily eat only sin." The civilized human being, the religious human being, is not meant to kill and eat animals.

Eating vegetables is violence, and vegetarians are also committing violence against other living entities because vegetables also have life. Nondevotees are killing cows, goats, and so many other animals for eating purposes, and one who is vegetarian is also killing. That is the law of nature. Jiva jivasya jivanam: one living entity is the life for another living entity. But for a human being that violence should be committed only as much as necessary.

If one kills many thousands of animals in a professional way so that other people can purchase the meat to eat, one must be ready to be killed in a similar way in his next life and in life after life. There are many people who violate their own religious principles. According to Judeo-Christian scriptures, it is clearly said, "Thou shalt not kill." Nonetheless, giving all kinds of excuses, even the heads of religions indulge in killing animals while trying to pass as saintly persons. This mockery and hypocrisy in human society brings about unlimited calamities: therefore often there are wars, sometimes global wars. Masses of such people go out onto battlefields and there is much killing, which is directly related to this prolific slaughter of other living entities, violence begets violence. Presently there are many atomic bombs and much destructive technology, waiting to be used, the global situation instead of being peaceful is like a tinderbox waiting to ignite, the negative reactions to this un-necessary killing can be perceived on a daily basis.

Some people say, "We believe that animals have no soul." That is not correct. They believe animals have no soul because they want to eat the animals, but actually animals do have a soul.

Here is the scientific proof; the animal is eating, you are eating: the animal is sleeping, you are sleeping; the animal is defending, you are defending; the animal is having sex, you are having sex; the animals have children, you have children; they have a living place, you have a living place. If the animal's body is cut, there is blood; if your body is cut, there is blood. So, all these similarities and not the presence of the soul? That is not logical. In logic there is something called analogy. Analogy means drawing a conclusion by finding many points of similarity. If there are so many points of similarity between human beings and animals, why deny one similarity? That is not logic. That is not science.

Some people put forward the theory that an animal has no soul or is something like dead stone. In this way they rationalize that there is no sin in animal-killing. Actually animals are not dead stone, but the killers of animals are stone-hearted. Consequently no reason or philosophy appeals to them. They continue keeping slaughterhouses and killing animals in the forest.

By killing animals, not only will we be bereft of the human form but we will have to take an animal form and somehow or other be killed by the same type of animal we have killed. This is the law of nature. The Sanskrit word mamsa means "meat." It is said: mam sah khadanti mamsah. That is, "I am now eating the flesh of an animal who will some day in the future be eating my flesh."

The purpose of food is to increase the duration of life, purify the mind, and aid bodily strength. This is its only purpose. In the past, great authorities selected those foods that best aid health and increase life's duration, such as milk products, sugar, rice, wheat, fruits and vegetable.

Animal fat is available in the form of milk, which is the most wonderful of all foods. Milk, butter, cheese, and similar products give animal fat in a form which rules out any need for the killing of innocent creatures. Protein is amply available through split peas, dal, whole wheat, etc.

The best food is the remnant of what is offered to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In Bhagavad-gita, the Supreme Lord says that He accepts preparations of vegetables, flour and milk when offered with devotion. Of course, devotion and love are the chief things which the Supreme Personality of Godhead accepts.

Therefore to make food antiseptic, eatable, and palatable for all persons, one should offer vegetarian foodstuffs to the Supreme Personality of Godhead and take the remnants.

No. After the Flood God gave man the animals for food and some animals became carnivorous. Also, the sacrifices of cattle and sheep at the tabernacle and temple were eaten afterwards. The Apostle Paul said that people should neither judge nor allow themselves to be judged concerning what they eat. All is as according to faith. If you believe eating meat is sinful, for you, this is so. If another person believes that all food is given by God, then eating meat is not sinful. Jesus himself said that what goes into a body does not make it impure, but what comes out of it does (in other words, what we say).

I believe that being a meat eater is each persons choice. Now killing on the other hand just for the sake of killing is awhole other story.I believe that if you want to eat the 4 legged, winged ones, or fined ones that is your choice. Myself I am a vegetarian, and this is my choice.I feel that I can get along just fine without animal in my diet, and have done so for the past 36 years.

Humans and animals killing to eat is nature and has been going on since their very existence. The body needs the vitamins that meat provides and vegetarians should still supplement their diet with these.
Imagine no animals were killed for eating and were allowed to breed naturally in their habitat, the world be over run with them and there would be no control over the numbers. Humans can control their breeding, animals cannot.
If people want to be vegetarians/vegans then that is their choice, but the majority of people follow nature's rule and who created nature? I believe it is supposed to be God therefore the devil cannot deceive those who are God's creation. See your point but fraid don't agree!

Sorry but at first I thought your question was ok, but your additional answers are now getting stupid. It was risky asking a question like that, you should have known that the majority of responses were going to disagree with you. Humans have free will and that free will entitles people to choose to eat meat or not therefore if we have free will we are deciding to eat meat ourselves not being deceived by the devil??!!!
Is it you whose rating all the answers badly just because we don't agree with you cos I find that very annoying. Free will also means that we can have our own opinion so you can't rate it as a bad answer cos it is our opinion not u'res.

Okay, Ive been thinking before I answer. Ive read some of your other Strange questions. If you want to live on vegetables and nuts that's up to you. but to ask me not to be offended when you call me satanic is a bit rich. Don't take this the wrong way but you don't make any sense. Yes killing is an act of violence, and eating more than you need is indulgence but I don't see how you jump from that to, meat eaters eat for indulgence, besides if we wern't supposed to eat it why does it taste so gooood.

Human beings are carnivores, we have the canine teeth to prove it! Being a vegetarian or vegan is a personal choice. Killing an animal to eat is in our nature besides we need the protein.

I can't believe you are comparing today's diet with the mythology of Adam and Eve. They are from the best story book in the world aka the old testament

Do not judge! You are deciding which life is more valuable. And giving advantage to the animals. Why? Where it says to respect one life more than other. Plants are alive too. I don't see the reason why shouldn't I eat meat, and should eat plant's flesh and blood. When we invent food, for which no life will have to end, GREAT. I'll be the first to use it. But until then, I shall eat equally meat from plants and meat from animals.
And treat it with respect, as all life forms should be treated.

You're a vegan, then? Stop taking vitamin supplements, see what happens. The human body requires meat.

Edit: Quite right, we're not carnivores. We're omnivores. Our bodies require BOTH plants and meat. You can only stay alive using artificial supplements. That doesn't tell you something?

Wasn't the animal killer in the Cain and Abel story the more blessed one? And in some religions, they have transubstantiation, where they believe they're eating of Christ's flesh and drinking of his blood. So I doubt that anyone is being tricked by the devil into eating meat.

Serious answers? You could start with a serious question....

So, what does your theory state about carnivores in the wild that only eat meat and are not designed to eat vegetation? And, have you ever noticed how true vegans appear unhealthy and have the stinkiest farts on earth?? Must be a reason for that....
