Hi, I have the same problem too. But not only shellfish, I can't take chicken, egg, seafoods ie. crab, shrimp, prawn (except fish) etc. That means I cant even eat my birthday cakes, breads and anything that contain eggs. :o(

Whenever, I eat any of these foods, I'll get runny rose, watery eyes, aching body, itchy and reddish eyes etc

All this while I've been taking anti-histamine but the one that works well for me is "Cirrus". So I have to keep some Cirrus with me all the time.

I've consulted the ENT specialist & doctors but all they can say is I have to live with it. Hmmm...most of the foods I love here in my country (Malaysia) contains all the allergens. How am I gonna go through all this?

At the moment, for us, I think, the best way is to keep away from these foods. We must drink lots of water to flush out the "allergens" from our body as fast as we can. For me, I have to take at least 2 liters of water daily.

But I strongly believe one day there be a real cure for allergy. There should be a way on how to CONTROL OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM FROM OVERREACTING TO harmless allergens. Our immune system and our heartbeat are not within our control but I've heard someone practicing Meditation who can control his hearbeat. Perhaps one day we may be able to put a stop to our overracting immune system.

Hope this help. Good Luck. Bye

Officially only a doctor can tell you that, but I can give you some info:
An allergy is a body's reaction to a substance that has entered your body. There are chemicals in shellfish that are apsorbed into your system that your body doesn't like. When it recognises those chemicals, it "reacts" to try and resolve the situation, however sometimes your body will overreact, causing constriction of your airway (throat), hives, wattery eyes, and changes in your cardiovascular system (your heart rate and blood pressure). Vomiting is very rare in a true "allergy", however, you most certinly have a reaction to it.
First, check your source of the food, it cood be poor quality or poorly cooked. Other than that, just watch what you eat, or even talk to your doctor about what you can do about it.

Yes, sounds like it. I have peanut allergy and I throw up repeatedly whenever I accidentally eat them. You should talk to your doctor about getting an epi-pen. You never know when a food allergy can go seriously bad on you, and shellfish allergy is one that can be fatal (as can peanut allergy). Food allergies can worsen when you keep eating the thing that makes you sick.

Yeah, your bodies telling you "GET RID OF THIS CRAP!!!!". dont eat anymore, everyones bodies are a little different in how they react to an allergic reaction, some peoples hands and feet swell up, throats close up making it hard to breathe, and yours obviously is vomiting...no more shellfish for you...

Instead of making any guesses get an allergy test done.u will know if u r really allergic to it so that u can eliminate it frm your diet and also know if r allergic to any other common allergen.
