what etchant we can use for stainless steel 301?

The Etching of the stainless steel 301is done by chemical milling process and most of them are proprietary(trade secret).

Only thing that I know of is it uses Combination of HNO3 and other acids, (Hydrofluoric )I am not sure of any other ingredients, or their proportions.

Please do not try to get it or do any of this at home or in your work shop, Hydrofluoric acid is very toxic and small amounts of it's vapour can kill the experimenter.

All factories are in remotest region of USA, and other developed countries.
