Go to Start menu, then control panel. Click on Add/Remove programs and then make sure you click on the left side for "Windows components". Click on DETAILS under accessories, then find paint and you can reinstall it.

I deleted it too accidentally, and I went on the web to see if i could download from some site but they all charge you, and it is not the same. What i did was i clicked on start, then search, typed me ms paint ( i don´t recall well the real name of the program ) and it found it in some folder i would never have found on my own then i just right clicked on it to create a direct access and that was it.

go to start-control panel-add remove programs. on the left you will see-add remove windows components, there you will look for "accessories" click on it. near the bottom of the window you should see " details" click it and make sure the box "paint" has a check in it. you might need your installation cd

did you delete it from the start menu? if so all you did was delete a shortcut to it.

right click the start button > click on explore > locate the original program in "program files" or "windows" folder. right click the file and click on "create shortcut"

the windows help files would have told you this in the start menu

You have XP now?

It's gone now. The MS Office Picture Manager does much the same things. I use MS Digital Image Standard, and I like it better than Paint. It does all the functions and more.

Not sure if you can get it back or not...but if you can your best bet will be to go to "www.download.com" and search for it. If you can't find it, you can always download something different from that site, hope it helps:)
