They have no real explaination for it. He was put into a coma 2 years ago after collapsing in a gym class. Could it be we now have a patron Saint for the comatose?--Terri Schiavo?

in answer to a question about being brain dead or going to Heaven--I am a member of the Body of Christ and I offer my suffering up for people like you or anybody who could use it so if my suffering afforded some grace for someone else I would suffer.

No I did not hear about it but it is no surprise to me. I was on Terri Schiavo's side because I think euthanasia is as abominable to God as abortion. I know Terri Schiavo was not brain dead. There were too many things that proved it. It was the agenda of her husband to make sure she was dead and for what? Life insurance?? Anyway I am sure Terri suffered enough to purify anyone's soul so it is very possible that she could be a saint. One of the tests of that is for someone to pray for the intercession of someone who has died after living an exemplary holy life. Then a miracle would have to occur that was deemed positively directly related to prayers for the saints intercession. Did someone pray to Terri?

It wasn't the same as Terri Schiavo. First off, Schiavo wasn't in a coma. She was awakened form the coma a long time ago. When she woke up, then she was in a persistent vegetative state because most of her brain had turned into spinal fluid. Second, you can't "wake" form a persistent vegetative state. The definition is that your brain is so damaged that you can't even think. Since brain cells can't recover, there is no coming back from a vegetative state.

Teri Schiavo was in a persistant vegitative state. That's not the same as being in a coma. Her brain was basically sludge inside of her skull. The only thing that kept her alive was a minimally functioning brain stem. She couldn't swallow, couldn't see, couldn't feel, couldn't communicate, couldn't understand her surroundings or situation... she was for all intents and purposes DEAD but still blinked and slept and woke and had a body.

It figures you would use Terri Schiavo. Were you one of the fanatics outside her hospice? Two questions. Would you want to be brain dead for 15 years? Or would you prefer to go to heaven?

Miracles happen every day, we just don't usually get to hear about them. There was a documentary about a guy who woke up from a coma after 15 years. He has short term memory problems, but he seems to be doing pretty well.

It wasn't like Terri's, I can guarantee that. She wasn't in a coma, she was in a persistent vegetative state. She was awake, just massively brain damaged and blind. And she was that way for 15 years, not just two.

there's a huge difference between comatose and a vegetative state. people in a coma usually have normal brain activity, people in a vegetative state do no

I don't think you understand the Schaivo case.... it wasn't a bloody coma. there was enough damage to her brain it was simply not going to happen.

you clearly don't seem to grasp the difference between "coma" and "persistent vegitative state"

its a huge distinction.
