The question assumes that the asker did not make a personal copy of his tax forms and e-filed without printing out a copy of the form. This is a plausible scenario and posts #3 and #4 wouldn't apply.

You can order a tax transcript from the IRS using form 4506, available online at www.irs.gov. The tax transcript should have all the information that was on your tax return.
If your tax returns were prepared by a professional, you should be able to get a copy from the preparer.
If you need copies of your W-2s, you can request them from your former employer
My law clients frequently need to provide tax returns for various reasons, and to my knowledge, they cannot order a copy of the actual tax return from the IRS, but for most purposes, a tax transcript will suffice. And while I find #3's answer extremely amusing, many of my clients find that the ex-spouse ended up with all their financial paperwork and their ex refuses to turn it over or "lost it" or whatever. I try to give people simpler solutions than battling with the ex.

Just in case the answers about ordering a tax transcript are not clear, you can't 'view' the return on-line. The transcript which contains all the information from you return is free. If you need an actual copy of your return, the IRS charges $39.00. You can get the required form from the IRS website.

You look in your desk for your file folder that's marked "Federal Taxes", which is where you filed the photocopy you made before you mailed the original.
That's what I've always done.
