I think its dumb. Two main things I would like to point out....
A. Pop isn't the problem why some kids are ganing weight
B. Everybody just brings pop to school! Everyone has a small coozie or just a pop in their locker, and if you actully have the space, some people have small buckets with ice and keep pop in there!!
Well, what do you think about it?

Okay, I live in Missouri, right by Kansas, where I live, you get mocked if you call it 'soda'.

i dont support the whole, "ban pop from school." i think that if you have a lunch program at your school, then they should take out all the greasy foods and foods with the most caloires and fat content.

I think if you look at these people who are drinking so much pop(as you call it) are going to be over weight and a lot of them will have diabetes in about 10yrs. but your right the soda isn't the only thing that is making them fat. It's the lack of exercise they get. And all the crap parents feed them because it's easy. Oh, yes they should ban pop from school. If the kid are allowed to have it let them bring it from home.

As a small baby, we had homework from the age of roughly 7 in my customary college (we are going back to the 80's right here!) and we in easy terms had it two times a week, wednesday and friday. I enjoyed doing my homework, and it did get me waiting for secondary college (in spite of the shown fact that secondary college there develop into so plenty extra!!) i do no longer think of they might desire to have an outright ban on it as some little ones desire to do homework. Others are much less vulnerable to desire to do it, so i think of that in line with risk having homework on a extra staggered foundation such because of the fact the only gadget I accompanied in school may be an option? homework actual stimulates little ones and any stimulant that retains them off of the pc or in front of the television for hours on end is a blessing.

Well i agree and im glad that its not available at my daughters school anymore. She is prone to getting bladder infections, and she will sneek a soda from anywhere she can. She cant stop even though she knows it hurts her. I cant be around every time she makes a bad choice, but as kids they dont always learn untill the worst has become. If theres no soda than she wont have a bad choice, if juice is around she'll choose it instead. But who knows, the brat is probably buying it after school from the ice cream man!

Pop or soda bans in schools is a good idea. The school is the place that children/teens spend most of their days and a lot of parents don't allow their kids drink pop/soda. Pop is high in sugar which is not good for you. It is a good idea.

I DEFINATELY do NOT agree with this. Is it a wonder why so many children and teens have eating disorders? Soda is not the only thing that causes weight gain. If America is so concerned about obesity then they should lower the prices of fresh fruits and vegatables. As far as what schools can do, they should serve more healthy food and less junk food.

We have a juice machine, but they are full of Frutopia, Water and Orange/Apple Juice. I agree with what was said before, about practicing what they preach...In the Teachers Lounge, they have a pop macine that they buy pop from and bring to class!

The whole point is that schools should practice what they preach. You are being taught about healthy eating and healthy lifestyles, and there's no point in making unhealthy foods available through the school, nor any good reason for schools to be partners in the vending of unhealthy foods.
