Yes, they can be. My mother has often told me about my dad's German Shepherd. My dad had lived with his parents before he got married and the dog was like his baby. When I was a few days old, my parents took me to my grandparents' house. They all went into the kitchen and, when they returned, they saw that I wasn't where they had left me. The dog had taken me to the garden and was shaking me.

First of all, do not lock out the dogs when the baby is in. Because that will make the dogs feel like rejected....which may easily result in jealousy.

Secondly, never leave the baby alone with the dogs in the room. They might harm the baby - on purpose or by accident or by spreading their germs and hair.

Third, get the dogs involved into this new episode of your life. Allow the dogs to sniff a bit at the baby, but avoid the risk of them snapping at the baby by gently keeping them at distant. Show the dogs how much you love the dogs ..... and the baby.

Talk to your dogs when breastfeeding the baby. Give the dogs a treat when done with feeding and changing the nappy of your baby.

And, very important: Allow the dogs to "protect" the baby when visitors come. Tell your guests to pet the dogs too.

This wil make the dogs understand that the baby belongs to the family, as do the dogs.

If your baby will be allergic to dogs hair.... only time will tell.

Starting by take them to vet and have shots, at least Rabbi.
keep them on flea control, and brush them often in the back yard.
They have each other for friendship, so I don't think they'll jealous over new baby. However your baby might will develop allergies.
Started to have them spend more time out side. Stay with them for first few times. Confined your baby's room from the dogs.
Keep the house clean from hairs and danders by vacuuming from corner to corner. you do what you can and see if it's working.
I understand you love your dogs, but, if things don't seem to working out, your love for your baby will help you choose what to do.

i luv dogs, too! i think the older dogs ar sometimes a little not happy with the new dog beacause of it stealing its teritory, for ex: i have 2 dogs one is a babe and the other is an older male dog and the older male dog was just so good until the day we came home with our new puppy. he started growling, but its only been a week.

sure, interest is a helpful source to maximum canines. The sounds which babies make are to three animals resembling prey. in no way assume an animal would be ok around something new and / or unusual, notably babies, elderly, strangers etc.

well it really depends on how close you and your wife are to the pets if you are like the mom and dad yes they will go through a point of jealouse. the reason is because they are use to you being there for them and when baby comes you will be giving all your attention to him or her . i really hope everything works out and congrats on new baby.

just observe the behavior-most dogs get snooty, then come to accept baby-as for allergies or sickness, time will tell
