some of thefirst answers are absolute idiotic and just show that those people don't know what love is. Love is compassion (amongst other things) and I don't think that ending a life unnecessarily just for your own pleasure beause you want to eat burgers is justified. Killing for pleasure or taste etc. is not a loving action. So whoever thinks that animals are there to eat, hasn't thought much.

Can anyone give examples of the bible to say that humans should eat animals? The thing about being master of the animals world is not valid as it says nothing about eating them.

I'm afraid that if you look at the rules for celebrating the Passover, killing and eating animals is mandatory. Deuteronomy 16 v. 1-8.
You cannot therefore equate eating meat with sin. But there is a suggestion that in a perfect world (Eden before the Fall) we would be vegetarians.

That is a pretty big IF.
Whoever said love is the ultimate good?
Why would it being the ultimate good stop killing food. Just because we SHOULD do something doesn't mean we will and it certainly won't stop people choosing not to.
Eating Animals doesn't nesscarily go against love. It depends what you think you should have love for. You can bring up an animal and love it and give a good life and still eat it.
Your qeustion is a loaded one and not even well-loaded at that.
I think this question is redundant.

dietry laws from the old testament don't apply to modern times due to the new covenant therefore it isn't a sin to kill and eat animals. even though we have alternatives some people don't like the alternatives. it's all apart of the food chain and we are ok to do so.love is the ultimate good but it is irrelevant to your point. no offence.

Romans 14: 3: For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not, and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for Yahweh hath received him.
sorry about the flowery language, try the NIV for a better version.
Scripture honestly does not forbid the eating of meat, if it did I would gladly become a vegetarian.

God Himself wasn't past using animal skins to clothe Adam and Eve but maybe the animals were dead first.

If you are a Christian, read the OT. The animals were given to us for food. I'm not a Christian, but I know that animals are food because they are made out of meat. Mmmm....

so what do you think should happenb to all those cows, pigs, chickens, etc. that have been bred to the point that they no longer have any survival ability in the wild? Love is also mercy, and it's more merciful to slaughter them for food than to turn them loose and let them die out on their own
