He may have hurt his back. Dogs with long backs are notorious for back problems, and sometimes can even get paralyzed. Something as simple as jumping up on the couch can cause these problems. A friend of mine has a basset hound (another type of long bodied dog) that was hurt in this way from jumping up on the furniture. Best to take him to the vet for a good check up! :)

Dachshunds can have serious back pain, and since they have such a long back, it's sooo easy to strain it. If he does a lot of jumping on high places-like couches, he can eaasily throw his back out which causes him to limp. Esp if he's one, at least mine is very energetic and likes to pretend she's just as big as a lab or any other big dog lol. If it is his back, just make sure that he doesn't jump. Carry him/pick him up so he doesn't have to for a while. And be extra careful in the future. That's why some dachsies in cartoons have like a wheel barrow attached to them for thier hind legs lol. Hope that helps. Good Luck!

put a little more mustard on the other side of the bun to even it out??LOL I had to say it... but seriously, if he's limping, there's something wrong with his leg, hip or foot. it could be something very serious to just a sticker in it's paw. If you can't find a sticker or cut in he's paw...you should most likely take him to the vet. Keep in mind, he wasn't born limping. I would use a magnifying glass and good lighting to check out his paw and if nothings there, go to the vet and maybe consider an x-ray. P.S. I don't own a Winnie dog but the best dog out of all my friends dogs is "Oscar" a miniature. He rules!! and what he lacks in size, he makes up in attitude!! good luck :)

He might have sprained or strained a muscle. Take him to the vet to make sure it isn't something more serious.
