The Karakoram Highway (KKH) is the highest paved international road in the world. It crosses the Karakoram mountain range at the Khunjerab Pass at an altitude of 4,693 metres (15,397 feet). It took 20 years to complete it.

One of the highest highways I know of is Bear Tooths Pass in NW Wyoming into Montana. It is over 11,000 ft in elevation.
