To identify ourselves. If we don't have names, then everyone wouldn't know who is which to call. Then obviously it would be harder to identify a person.

Most of the culture people did not have name in the old times. They had a first name and a surname given by themselves or by the community.
-an origin (tribe, location) , a profession, a specificity
For my point of view 2 factors were at the origin of name creation
- In Europa during the medieval time the demographic explosion .
- Need to record acts (Law, trading)
Tradition and law changed. Name was forced to be kept from one generation to another one.

first names? the obvious reasont o indentify communication wether its towards us or someone else. last names? (surnames that is) mostly to show affiliation with one particular clan and it just developed into this i suppose

you have satan in you....you have god in you......you have your outer name, that can change, satan can be destroyed, but you cannot completely destroy god which is love.......god is the one name that lives forever.you love this or that...there is always love and it can grow to amazing hights.....we need a way to identify that which we can not see
