This is typically seen in dogs who are either bored senseless or slightly neurotic.. Once the pattern is set it is typically hard to break because the dogs essentially get high from it. Talk to your vet

Good luck!!

Chasing tail is a natural thing, both dogs and cats do it...it's a way that they play. As to how you stop your animal from playing like this, I do not know.

There is no point in stopping your dog from chasing his tail. They have fun doing it. My dog does it all the time and it is funny to watch. They are so cute when they do that.

A dog chasing it's own tail is a sign of boredom. You need to give it something else to chase or play with him more.

Why would you want to stop your dog from chasing his tail? They have fun doing it. What is wrong with them doing that? If that is irritating you then maybe you shouldn't have a dog. But if you are really intent on doing this the only real way is to have the dog's tail cropped or whatever they call that. but I don't know if you can do that with just any breed and it cost money and totally pointless for the reason that you are stating.

well you could get his tail docked, or cut off like they do dobermans and rottweilers, or get one of those big cones that they put around the dogs neck to keep it from scratching. this way he wont be able to reach his tail
